2019 is almost over, time to look back. What did you like, what was a highlight, what was a low ?

Been a pretty good year for us. We went camping quite a bit, with our camper. We bought it late last summer and only got to take it out once. But we took it out 4 times this summer and loved every second of it.
The beginning of the year was a bit rocky but for the most part, 2019 was good to my family, and to me. Hope it continues in 2020.

My 2019 highlights:
Stephen King's The Institute. That book is terrific. And I love following Sai King on Twitter. He and Molly the Thing of Evil are wonderful. My son is finally done with University. He'll have a degree in psychology. That's a huge relief. I'm very proud of him. He's accomplished much in the face of adversity. I've reconnected with my sisters. That's good. They've been distant for years. Communication is KEY. They thought I was mad at them. I thought they didn't want anything to do with me. My husband and I have inherited four young adults to take care of. Two of them stay every weekend. The other two are moving in this weekend, temporarily since they are being kicked out of the mother's house. We try to help people. Sometimes it is rewarding and appreciated. Sometimes it's like a kick in the head. But we still keep doing it. The lows in 2019 were ugly and I won't burden you folks. Just be kind to each other. Long days and pleasant nights.

Great that a place like this exists, very grateful, thought the SK forum was going to be over but I'm glad it's not. Really enjoyed becoming a member of this family! Great stuff, thanks everyone!

Let's see - I am finally starting to get used to having my hubby Andy around; he used to go up north to Baker Lake Nunavut for five months at a time and I only saw him twice a year for about 4 weeks at a time (Christmas and also in July).
That was from 2012 until 2018
Highlights of the year would be gardening, catching squirrels and releasing them in the park; meeting a new friend to text with (she is very upbeat even if we don't see each other much in person).
Did not travel much lately but it's been nice staying close to home. I am trying to perfect my bread recipes VWKKFduRFHVMhHXyDqLu
I am also grateful to have this place to fall back on, now that SKMB is only open three days a week.
It seems to be getting better all the time as more people join and post! bokoebaFTerAfwUuywKb

It's been a busy year for me, been doing a lot of work in the house, it's funny, we've been in this house over twenty years and it's only this past year that we're getting things shaped the way we want them. Better late than never I suppose. Highlight for me was reconnecting with SKMB, I joined in 2007 but never took the plunge and participated, then life got in the way and I finally jumped in this year. Then I joined up here on The Playground. Gotta say it was a pleasure to meet and converse with you all on both the sites, you guys are amazing. A big shout out to Frank for creating the Playground, I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say we're very grateful to you.

It was an ok year for me...any year im alive is good imo. I had a few seizures an a lot of Migraines this year that were horrible but I got some good news last month that they finally going to give me medicines to prevent both from happening. I still miss my dad everyday but I know ill see him again so it helps me feel a little better. My husband an kids are great to have around an im so blessed to have a family to help me through the bad times. My daughter is loving her Taekwondo classes & that makes me proud too. Over all im just looking forward to 2020 & everything else in the future.

2020 - wow - my Mom was born in 1925 and Dad in 1922; both are now gone but when I look back it is amazing to think of all the changes that have occurred over the years.
I hope we can get control of what we are doing to our planet so that in the future people will be able to live well.
It seems our winters here in Winnipeg are getting warmer (can't say I will miss the minus 40 with the wind chill temps!) but I do wonder if it has anything to do with global warming?
Don't want to get all political so I will just say that 2019 wasn't a bad year overall and I look forward to a new decade and all it might bring.

Well I am really thankful for this Weekend Playground and to Frank for all his hard work and constantly upgrading it. (LOVE the snow falling on the screen, Frank)
Think I am getting a bit better at picture taking. For me, it's really enjoyable walking around the city or taking the bus to other areas of the Okanagan looking for those great shots. Whether it be scenery, flowers or an animal or two.
Winter is here and I'm very thankful. It's my favourite time of year and the more snow the better. This year I was able to catch up with purchasing SK hardcovers,. only missing one now. Even found a few first editions I never thought I would own. All in all it was a pretty good year. It's uplifting to key into this MB. I enjoy reading your posts, your jokes, your opinions and your thoughts. It's a smile for the day. Enjoy the holidays everyone. Have fun and be safe.

Hey @alexandra - ditto about this Board
Which hardcover are you missing? Maybe someone on the Board could trade one with you for the missing one or even send it as a gift
