So Frank, it's pretty apparent both our teams are going with QBs with the their first pick, have you given any thought into the second pick? There are a bunch of mock drafts out there.
The Jets get another first round pick. Their biggest need is at cornerback. But their offensive front line also sucked last year and if they want to protect their QB of the future they better beef up that line. Most forecasters are predicting they will go with CB in Caleb Farley, Greg Newsome, or Asante Samuel Jr., if available. But I think if Alijah Vera-Tucker is still there, they should go that way. He could play both Tackle or Guard in the NFL. And address CB later or see who is available on the market or in a trade. Yap, it's fun reading all the mock drafts.
For the immediate future and over the long run, a cornerback would make sense, perhaps a wide receiver too.
Naje harrisas ,RB , would fit in Shanahan's offense. He's a good backfield passer and a speedy runner.

I really can't wait to look on my phone on friday morning. Draft starts 1:45 am on free-tv. It starts 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 29 for me. I’ll probably watch the first round up till the Jets second first round pick at 23rd. After that I’ll probably just be reading about the picks on the news and the analysis.
After the Draft is all done I like to see the grades of each team on how the experts feel they did in the Draft. Even though the grades ranged from a C- to a B+ for the Jets last year, it seems the average brought them in at a B. Although the Jets sucked in 2020 their top draft picks of 2020 look promising throughout the season. The remainder either played well and are in an upward direction, or regulated as developmental talent as expected. The grade of 2021 will be determined by their filling of needs which weren't addressed on the open market or by trade by the time of the Draft. And in the end they get a final shot of filling needs by seeing who gets cut by other teams at the end of the pre-season. I’m hoping for an A in the Draft, but aren’t I always, LOL?

I've read a bit about Joe douglas.
It seems he isn't the best decision maker. But picking Wilson could be a success.
I really do hope to see "the 49ers picked Lance" on my phone on friday morning.

I really do hope to see "the 49ers picked Lance" on my phone on friday morning. Joe Douglas has the most massive rebuilding job of any Jets general manager in history, and the toughest job of any general manager in the NFL right now. If Robert Saleh and Zach Wilson don’t take the Jets anywhere someone else will be picking the next head coach and the next quarterback in a couple years. It's "Joe Time."

Good thing is, Saleh knows how to work with rookies. Damn dio, Saleh is a great Coach. (And yes, i'm still a bit sad that he has left the Bay)
He's a leader and i think he's able to turn around the Jet's Organization.
Hmm, wasn't it Douglas's decision to hire Saleh ? I'm f******g sure, it was a dang good decision.

LOL... Frank I'm a Jets fan. We have no confidence in anything the front office has done in the last 50 years (besides hiring Phil Parcells). Plus Johnson & Johnson has a lot going on with lawsuits, their vaccine, and other problems... and Woody Johnson (owner of the Jets), has bigger things to worry about and probably isn't focused on the team as he should be. At best we only remain cautiously optimistic.

It’s pretty obvious Jimmy Garoppolo’s time in San Francisco is ending. I’m wondering if the 49ers trade him before or during the draft to the New England Patriots. The Pats need to address the QB position one way or another this season. Cam Newton is short term with only a on-year contract, and Brian Hoyer is just meh. Garoppolo is a knows entity in NE, and was really liked. I think Belicheat would like to get his hands on Justin Fields in the Draft but there is no way he would be available at the 15th overall pick. So I think either NE will make a trade during the draft to move down and get him or one of the other top QB’s available, or make a trade to get Garoppolo back.

Depending on how the drafts shakes up, i don't think NE can pick Fields or Lance.
And yes, i also think Garoppolo's days are numbered.Report: 49ers will make ‘major effort’ to trade Garoppolo before or during 2021 NFL DraftClick me

It will probably cost them near $13 million to sign their draft picks. So they have room to play, but I'm sure they'll use some of that moolah to give Fred Warner an extension. The biggest decision they may have to deal with if they can't get a veteran QB for a year and let the rookie sit, is they might have to hold onto Garoppolo, but he will cause them a $26.4 million hit if he stays on the roster.

Garoppolo has a no-trade clause, though logically he would unlikely use it and forfeit his $24 million in base salary with two years remaining on his contract.

💰💸💶💵💰😀
They could always trade him and agree with his new team to pay part of his salary.

I’m hoping Robert Saleh has enough pull to get the Jets to go with Wilson. He’s the perfect QB fit for the offensive scheme Mike LaFleur (who also comes from the 49ers) plans to implicate. But it is the Jets and bad decisions by the head office are normal.

I feel good, you should too. Jets got Zach Wilson, 49ers got Trey Lance. ☝👏👍🤘
