I started IF IT BLEEDS a couple of days ago.
Mr Harrigan's Phone - I read that straight through. I loved it because it reminded me of the Night Shift/Skeleton Crew era. Great story.
The Life of Chuck - showcasing one of SK's strengths, that of creating characters so real you actually feel like you know them. Didn't quite "get" this story though, so I may have to re-read it once I get to the end of the book.
If it Bleeds - only started this, and it's a pleasure to be spending time with Holly Gibney again.

I did find a bit of misogyny over there when I was in Scotland in 2005
Glad you're enjoying the books!

Cut Me In - Ed McBain
A Hard Case Crime novel from the 50s. After reading the latest Stephen King Hard Case Crime novel, it made me want to pick up another. Every time I read one of the Hard Case Crime books, I have to read another one. They are like Oreos.

Currently reading, Gwendy's Button Box by Uncle Steve and Richard Chizmar.
Good ole R.F. is back to his tricks. I enjoy seeing him and George Bannerman resurface.

And they are terrific stories! I think it upset him that so many years of his life boiled down to $3.99. It's a kick in the junk. Amazon, home of the super-wealthy Bezos.

www.brandonsanderson.com/the-stormlight-archive-series/I've started on The Way of Kings This is book 1 in the Stormlight Series.
Some great fantasy writing by Brandon Sanderson. He's masterful at building worlds and cultures, religions and lifestyles.
These books are all heavy. And by that I mean they are thick! They are so thick that when I read in bed I have to make sure I put the book down before I fall asleep or risk breaking my nose.

Started two books. Rather heavy but interesting. One is Women Who Kill by Carol Ann Davis. Each bad girl get a chapter. Two more historic cases to open the book and then more modern cases. Each with a background, the story of her deeds and a psychologic profile. The second is really harder to read but also more important. That is The German Trauma by Gitta Sereny. Written in 2000 it starts by describing the background before the war. As she grow up in occupied Austria and worked in occupied France before she had to flee there is some remembrance here and then goes on to different things during and after the war. There is a chapter on Albert Speer, one on Franz Stangl (the commendant of Treblinka) and one of the kidnappings of young (2-6 years) children from their parents in, above all, poland because they had blond hair and other criterias for a good race. Also the germany after the war that is both moving into a future and trying not to close their eyes to their history. Interesting and also, i think important.

Wow - sounds like pretty heavy stuff (that second book)
The first one sounds a lot like books I used to read about true crime - hope you enjoy these books @kurben
