That kid truly wanted to live, even though his life was sh*t even before everybody else's life inside the Dome was ruined/ended. I am sure he survived after the book ended, damaged though he was.
And the kid soldier and the kid survivor surely must have become friends for life. Insert any romantic they-get-married-and-lived-happily-ever-after wishes/theories here. 🥰

In Cell, wiz kid Jordan theorized that a second exposure to the signal would reboot that person's brain so it would be restored to its defaults, making them normal again.
The book ends with this action being performed on the young son of the hero.
People would naturally not know if it worked or not, but I think SK himself mentioned later that he assumed everyone would know it did work.

I remember that! Cell had one of those SK endings that drives a lot of readers 'batsh!t crazy'! 😝 ....it doesn't bother me when he does that. I like being able to use my own imagination and come up an ending I like. 😊
