Happy Saturday! Anyone do anything fun? The Ogre and I set out to find a good lunch today - we were starving. Left the house at 11:30 am, drove all through Memphis, ended up back in the burbs at 2:30 finally having lunch. The power was out at our first 2 choices (we had a fantastic storm this morning!), he wanted "solid food" whatever that means - I wanted hot wings - nothing seemed to fit the bill. Then we stopped at a bookstore where my friend works so I could talk books for a while. Got gas. Bought a watermelon. But we had a great lunch finally (Bonefish!) and shared a watermelon martini. I can't get cool now. I've been hot flashing since around 5pm. I'm going to go take an ice water bath. Where is everybody? "Y'all gon make me lose my mind up in here!"  Neesy teaches emoji!!!!  |

When Holly said "Got gas" for just a second I was going to recommend Gas-X (man we really need the winky face). If Andy were here he would said "I got petrol".

Well, I thought it was too early to drink, but my husband doesn't mind those kind of rules - so he ordered it but then gave it to me, but I made him help. And then I ate the watermelon skewer - which had been soaked in vodka, but I didn't know that until my lips went numb. It was a happy day. At the moment, everyone I love is doing ok. I can't imagine anything better or more peaceful. It isn't always so.
I'm going to start doing Andy-speak: I got petrol!

Hello friends! morgan I wish you could send me some thunderstorms - I'd send you some sunshine! It's HOT here in the mid south. It's been a day of chores - and grocery shopping. I swore off of week night drinking - it was making me fat(ter). So I've got a nice bottle of cabernet that I'm looking forward too after dinner - only on Saturdays now. It's a label I've never tried: 19 Crimes - it's about the 19 crimes that could get you shipped off and sent to live in Australia.  I'm going to grill a flank steak for fajitas tonight. Corn on the cob. I got a new book in the mail: The Woman in the Window. I think I'll start it after dinner. I hear it's one of those you can't put down - makes me think of Girl on the Train. I'm also reading The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty - it's good, but not un-put-downable. It's a ho-hum kind of day, but that's fine by me. |

Morgan - we got those severe thunderstorms as well on Thursday night (actually very early Friday morning in the wee hours) so on Friday it seemed like many people were out of sorts.
I was woken up at 4 a.m.
Hope you can get any water damage cleaned up soon!
