Frank, do you know anything about Ralf Ragnick? I've very recently heard about him because he's going to be the new Man Utd manager, and he's supposedly been a big influence to a lot of German managers like Klopp, Tuchel, Nagelsmann, Flick, etc.

He was pretty successful at Schalke 04. Furthermore, he led Hoffenheim and Leipzig into the Bundesliga.

I'm not sure if the "superstars" at Man Utd are going to do that high pressure pressing like he wants, though. I can't really imagine the likes of Pogba, Rashford and Ronaldo bearing on guys to try and win the ball. But I hope he does well, regardless.
We (Scotland) got our World Cup play off path announcement today. We're playing Ukraine at home for our first round, then we'll play the winners of Austria and Wales. Overall, a very good play off route. Although, I'm really not a fan of having to play a team we took care of in the groups again, Austria. A complete farce from UEFA. Regardless, we were very lucky to avoid Portugal and Italy.

Its a great opportunity for Ralf. I know he's been appointed as interim manager until the end of the season, but if he can get them playing then he'll have more than a chance of getting the job permanently.

Frank, I was randomly searching up the Hoffenheim women's team because they were playing Arsenal women in the Champions League yesterday.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TSG_1899_Hoffenheim_(women)
I noticed something quite interesting, apparently Hansi Flick is a co-Chairman of the club; I found that quite weird, I know he used to be the manager (or was it assistant manager?) of Hoffenheim, but its weird for him to be the women's team chairman, especially with him managing other Bundesliga teams (and then the national team). I would assume that he assists them financially? Regardless, what a guy.

Very strange. I always thought that a Chairman role was ceremonial? Could be different with women's football, though. That article seems to suggest that Hopp feels bad for sacking Flick in 2005, so has decided to keep him around in some role?! Very weird stuff.

Yep, we've been doing well as of late. I'm not too sure about it continuing, though, we seem to crumble whenever we play the big teams; I believe we're playing Man City at the end of this month. And we seem to get crushed against them. Its weird, sometimes the big teams can have their bogey team; Man City did really badly whenever they played Tottenham last season, for whatever reason. But that's not happening with us as of late.
How's SV getting on? Do you think they can get promotion this season?

That happens a lot with teams outside the premiership (I would its the same for the Bundesliga). There are so many games in a season with those sorts of leagues that it becomes a slog, and it favours the teams with the larger squads. I noticed that even Schalke isn't doing so well this year, which isn't surprising considering how terrible they were last season, but they were an established Bundesliga team for ages. Hopefully they'll be back where they belong soon, HSV I mean.

In the past month we have ...
Went out the FA Cup in the first round to a Championship team.
Went out the League Cup to a Liverpool team that didn't have their first team available.
Drew with bottom of the league Burnley.
Arteta masterclass.

I don't know if you've been keeping up with transfers, Frank, but Vlahovic, Arsenal's main target this month, has snubbed us for Juventus. This happens all the time: Arsenal go for a player for months and months, and when he says no (which I don't blame him for doing with this board and manager) we end up scrambling for a back-up.
We've recently went in for Luka Jovic, because its pretty obvious we're not getting Vlahovic, and he doesn't even want to come! And he's been on the bench for the last season!
We're a shambles.
