Frank, 2 and 0 against Austria. Dear lord.
What is it with Germany managers not playing Thomas Muller? Nagelsmann brought him on off the bench in the Austria game when the match was basically done. Why is Gnabry and Fullkrug starting over Muller? What have those guys done in games to warrant being picked over Thomas Muller? I don't get it. Yeah, Muller's not the youngest at this point, but you would still back him to score, you know? Can we say the same for those two guys? Or for Havertz? Or Sane?
Also, why the heck is Rudiger, Hummels and Tah still playing? Who is making these decisions?
And why wasn't Rudi Voller kept on as manager? That match he was in charge of, Germany played excellently! And Muller actually played! I don't know, edders. Nobody knows what's going on with this team, even the "experts" are puzzled. No team spirit.
Nagelsmann makes the opposite of that what's needed. Played 4 different defense setups in 4 games.
The only two games they won in the last 10 Kai havertz didn't start. It could always be, Frank, that this has something to do with them playing friendlies, having already qualified, and not playing actual, competitive matches.
But then again, I think its simply a case of the team not being very good. We have to remember that a lot of the players there are the same guys that played in the major tournaments in the last two disastrous WC's and the last disastrous Euro's.
Its not a manager issue. There's no way Joachim Low and Hansi Flick suck as managers, so that leads me to believe that after the Euro's in 2016, a lot of Germany's WC heroes aged out and the guys that replaced them simply aren't all that good.
I mean, you take someone like Sami Khedira, for example. He played for Germany right up until 2018, but he was mainly getting replaced by Gundogan in his final years for Germany. Gundogan is now playing in that position in which Khedira used to play. Would anyone say that Gundogan is an upgrade to Khedira?
Also, returning to the competitive match thing, I do think its a bit strange that Hansi was sacked due to friendly matches. I mean, yeah, it wasn't good, but if the choice is Nagelsmann or Flick, I would take Flick for the actual tournament. If the team does bad, then by all means, get rid of him after the tournament.
All of this is me saying: bring back Voller.

I think Messi's probably been awarded this award because of Argentina's world cup triumph.
But then again, Messi wasn't the best player for Argentina during the world cup ... In my opinion, that was Di Maria.
Also, Maradona didn't win any major awards like this when he was playing, saying the league he was playing in wasn't good enough, which was always BS.
