Been watching my Christmas movies recently.
Yesterday we saw "A Muppet's Family Christmas" and it was so much fun! It was nice to see Jim Henson at the end! (I watched another vid of the same movie after that, while I was doing some things around the house. ❤)
Later I took a break to do nothing but zone out with flicks. I watched "Krampus". I think this holiday movie is underrated and has it all. Comedy, dysfunctional family drama, heart touching stuff, tragedy, and really good creepy and disturbing scary things. I like the little boy Max, and his grandmother, Omi, best. Really a great cast and characters, overall.
Then watched Ralphie and the Old Man in "A Christmas Story"!
During and after dinner was again watching "Rare Exports" with the kids. I was tired by then and fell asleep in the middle of it. I woke up this morning on the couch.
Right now I'm watching a holiday favorite, "Home for the Holidays" 1996 with Holly Hunter, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Bancroft, Charles Durning and Geraldine Chaplin. A great movie! I didn't get to see it at Thanksgiving.🙂

Smile
After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can't explain.
Some Scenes scared the shiet out of me, this Smile and the score together are creepy af.
Kept me tense the whole time. If you like psychological horror then this will be right up your alley.

John Carpenter's "In the Mouth of Madness" 1994 Great story, music and a stellar cast. (everything you expect from a Carpenter film) Came across this one for free on Youtube, but you have to sign in to watch. I'd not seen this on before....

I've been working a lot lately, got eyestrain and needed/need to put the pencils and pens down for awhile.
.....Watched "Elvira Mistress of the Dark" 1988, just for the 'whut the hell of it'....
(rofl) 🤣
The tactless, tasteless, tacky queen of perfectly punishing playful puns and combustively carousing camp. 😆
She has deep bleu Le Creuset cookware and knows how to use it.
...god I love continuity props masters! 😂 Made my day. 😄😉

Gotta have Tennesee Williams any way you can get him. Especially when John Huston and an outstanding cast is involved.
" The Night of the Iguana" 1964

"The Recruit" 2003
Had to get back to work today, but put this on to play in the background. I'll watch it again uninterrupted later. I'd forgotten how much I liked this one.
Yeah, it's a vehicle for Farrell and Moynahan, with the great Pacino thrown in, but it is really good. Gotta love the writing and the cast never disappoints.

Morgan
Scientists at a research company discover that Morgan, the human hybrid they are working on, has a vicious side
An action movie rip-off of Ex-Machina with more staff. The premise was good, It had excellent fight scenes and a great performance by the cast.
But the movie was pretty boring at many times, parts were downright silly.

But the movie was pretty boring at many times, parts were downright silly. Agreed, I liked Kate Mara's character best, and she played it very well. Taylor-Joy has been very good in all I've seen her in so far. This is the only other film I have seen 'Mary Cratchett' (A Christmas Carol 2019) in...so far.
This one reminded me, just a little, of "Hannah" with Soairse Ronan and Cate Blanchette.

6 Underground
Six individuals from all around the globe, each the very best at what they do, have been chosen not only for their skill, but for a unique desire to delete their pasts to change the future.
A same old story presented with new concept, never seen cinematography and next generation action sequences. Its refreshing to see an action movie start with action and keep you hyped to the end.
Melanie Laurent was terrific. The entire cast was a great ensemble working well.
It's totally over the top action packed . If you like actions movies then you're gonna love this,i really enjoyed the ride.

Working through some older movies lately. Last night I watched The Getaway (1972 original) starring Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw. Holds up well except for Steve smacking her around in one scene, something they'd never show today, although sadly it was probably accurate considering the characters and time.

Seven
A serial killer begins murdering people according to the seven deadly sins. Two detectives, one new to the city and the other about to retire, are tasked with apprehending the criminal.
One of the most interesting and gripping crime stories ever told. It is grim and disturbing but it is also very intelligent, with an excellent cast and beautiful dark cinematography and dazzling landscapes really do add to the atmosphere.

Once upon a time in Venice
When a group of drug dealers captures Steve's dog, he tries to rescue it. Before returning the dog to his master, Spyder, the gang leader, arranges for Steve to complete a few tasks.
The cast was great, especially Jason Momoa as "the bad guy". Bruce Willis is amiable, John Goodman underused.
The script is awful and the goofy stunts are not as entertaining as you expect them to be.
