Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel was just amazing. It was fully packed with action, humour and everything one can expect from a MCU movie.
The cast was brilliant, and the cat was hilarious. WUITIIQGUyMrvFxIgkNw

I love watching Phil's evolution in Groundhog Day from an obnoxious jerk to a caring, altruistic person. This is easily my favorite movie of all time. I know what it's like to be stuck in a rut when everyday feels the same.

The Sun and I got a kick out of Charles reference to the bar scene in 'First Class', when he and Erik approached Wolverine the FIRST time. 😂 'Days of Future Past' is excellent all around. applouse

Saw Guillermo Del Toro's "Nightmare Alley" not too long ago on Hulu. Wonderfully done, everything you expect from this film maker. After the first 30 minutes or so I realized this was a remake of the 1947(?...I think it's '47) film with Tyrone Power and Joan Blondell...etc. Del Toro's remake has a totally AWESOME cast, and is the usual visual feast he gives us.

Hallum Foe (2007) Jamie Bell
A good movie from the UK starring Jamie Bell when he was probably around 20. Jamie Bell's character (Hallum) is having a hard time dealing with his mother's suicide and he blames his father and step mother for it. He moves away form his father's house to Edinburgh where he gets a job in a hotel and starts a relationship with a woman who works at the hotel. It's an odd and sometimes humorous movie about the difficulty of understanding a suicide by a loved one.

I'm just so fascinated by stories & films that are set in bayous or swamps. It started last summer when I read Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Good Wes Craven flick, and a great cast. DC comics came out with "Swamp Thing", and Marvel answered that with "The Man Thing"...both pretty cool stories. Not sure about the origins of "Swamp Thing" (in the comic books, I didn't read those ones much), but "The Man Thing was created by a mixture/combining of the 'Super Soldier Serum' that created Captain American, and the oozy muck of the swamp +. Cool icky stuff. 😄 I don't know too much about Swamp Thing, either. But I do know that Alan Moore (V for Vendetta/Watchmen) was pretty important in getting the character a lot of mainstream popularity. Heck, it was probably due to him that the studio decided to make a movie about him (he was pretty obscure before Moore). I believe there was a b-movie sequel to the first Swamp Thing, right? Haven't checked that out, though.

X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Awesome film. Everything is great. It was fast-paced, well-shot and just amazing. One of the best of the genre. FOX did a really great job with the X-Men franchise. They took risks. While it didn't always work (Origins: Wolverine), they usually hit more out of the park than otherwise (Deadpool, for example).

Captain Marvel

The cast was brilliant, and the cat was hilarious. One of the things I really liked about Captain Marvel was that we got to see Fury and Coulson as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in a sort of buddy cop kind of way. I thought that Law was excellent as the villain; a lot of people have complained about Captain Marvel's villain, but I had no issue with him; I thought he was pretty menacing on occasion. I would say that its a better film than any of the Marvel Studios films released this year (Black Widow, Shang Chi, Eternals).

Don't breathe 2
The movie is entirely different from part 1. We got to see a different side of the blind man in this movie. Its not an continuation or a direct sequel of the first part. It gave a look at Stephen Lang's acting skills and the little girl deserves a ton of credit! From what I understand, Lang's character is something of an anti-hero in the sequel, which is a bit weird considering how he was the out and out antagonist in the first film. But anyway, I'll still check it out.

Watching Stephen Lang in "Don't Breathe" again, on FXM. I've only seen it once, looking forward to this rewatch. Lang is an unusual actor in that he is equally as convincing as a protagonist AND an antagonist. He's genuinely terrifying for a lot of "Don't Breath".

He can play anything! There's a movie on Hulu, "Death in Texas", where he plays a very different character. Also enjoyed his performance in SK's "A Good Marriage", very much. And he's in a newer version of "The Monkey's Paw".

Just started Tim Burton's 1989 "Batman" on the Smarta$$ TV. Haven't seen it in a long time. Cast is totally flamin' awesome. Man...sometimes I forget how great a composer Danny Elfman is. This is a great movie...yeah, a bit campy and fun. No doubt. But I don't care. It's like a (really good) 'missing link' between Adam West Batman and Christian Bale Batman. This is THE flick that REALLY kicked off all the comic book/super hero movies. (78's Superman with Reeves, was really great! But didn't open the theatre doors and usher in that new era like Burton's Batman did) And Tim Burton did damn good job. This just popped up in my Hulu lists tonight, I hope "Batman Returns" pops up on Hulu soon.

Fell asleep rewatching "Man on Fire" with Denzel Washington the other night. Love that movie. Never knew it was a remake though, watching "Man On Fire" 1987 with Scott Glenn right now on Hulu. So far it's good!
