And there are hundreds of these conundrums, still unanswered.

Maybe one of those vampires was Jack the Ripper, and he's now living in Ohio as an accountant.....or cab driver.

Ya Especially If They Like Been Alive Since Humans First Came Around You Know Thousands Of Years. I Don't Think They Have To Worry About Diseases Though. It A Part Of Being Immortal. Vampire immortality is always conditional.
The Black Plague would have had a significant affect on vampires in a few ways. Especially with the way it decimated so much of the world’s population at the time.
Then there are different ‘kinds’ of vampires. Read the Dark Tower series for more of King’s view of the ‘types’ of vampires. Type I’s, II‘s and III’s.
Vampire scholars have speculated on vampires ability to transmit vampirism to be through venom and/or viral means. Maybe even bacterial.
The Komodo dragon, the largest lizard in the world has a devastatingly venomous bite, astonishingly fast acting and deadly, because of the massive concentration of harmful bacteria in it’s mouth.
Viruses and bacteria can change and mutate.
Look at some of the mutated (or maybe evolved… devolved) vamps in the Blade’s stories. Or some of the vamps in the ‘Daybreakers’ flick. 😊
Who know what can happen when vampires are running around being promiscuous and bite just any old thing without using protection. 😂

wolf I See What You Sayin Though Sis Good Points About Viruses An Bacterias I really like Frank’s “Vampires in Spaaaace!” 😄
Alright Commander osnafrank , now let’s come up with how we can ‘concentrate’ their food stores, into a compact concentrated form for easy storage. And figure out how much they will need until they get to their first planet! 😆👏👏👏❗️
