44.) The Lazarus Effect (2015). Didn't realize I was watching back-to-back Mark Duplass movies, but that's okay - I'm a fan. Interesting story, but just wasn't executed well enough. Even Evan Peters couldn't help very much. Ha!
45.) Interview with the Vampire (1994). Hadn't watched this one in many years either. It was slower than I remembered and I'm not a Tom Cruise or Antonio Banderas fan. But Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst were very good IMO. At least I learned something on a re-watch...Anne Rice wrote the screenplay.

46.) My Teacher, My Obsession (2018). With a title like this, what would you expect? I watched it on Netflix, but it definitely seemed like a bad Lifetime TV movie. Started out with a little blood and suspense, but my hope was quickly shattered. (rofl)
47.) Big Driver (2014). Re-watch. Difficult storyline to watch, that's for sure. Definitely one that lost its appeal to me a bit the second time around. Maria Bello did a good job and I love that Joan Jett was in this movie.

48.) Oculus (2013). There were a few decent parts, but overall I wasn't very impressed. The writers could've done quite a bit more with the backstory. (Not sure how it could manage being over-explained, but yet not thoroughly enough, but that's how it felt to me.) The "flashback" scenes were definitely superior IMO.

1. American Werewolf in London Still good to see again (I had it saved in my PVR thingy) 2. Lake Placid with Bill Pullman and Bridget Fonda - about a giant crocodile 3. Repulsion (1965) with Catherine Deneuve - more like a psychological drama but has some horror moments in it. 4. Joy Ride - a trucker terrorizes three young people after being the victim of a practical joke. 5. The Hills Have Eyes - A suburban American family is being stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert, far away from civilization. (Not the original from 1977). 6. Crazies on AMC (part of the Fear Fest) - remake of the 1973 film by George A. Romero 7. The Exorcist (the original one) - I remember seeing this at the theatre in a small town we lived in when I was still in high school. Read the book first so didn't jump a lot when the frightening scenes occurred. 8. Apt Pupil, based on the book by Stephen King (another one in my PVR) - my son's friend was shocked at the scene with the cat. 9. The Brave One with Jodie Foster - while not technically a horror film it has quite a bit of violence - this is a pretty good movie. 10. Natural Born Killers with Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis - wow - that was a very strange movie (not what I was expecting). 11. The Psycho She Met Online - this was like the Harlequin Romance version of a scary movie with perfect looking people etc. It was also filmed in Canada (probably for the tax breaks). 12. Good Neighbors - this one I liked - set in Quebec in the Notre Dame de Grace region about a murderer of young women. Sort of a whodunnit but with a good cast and good plot. Very quirky yet it kept you on your toes, wondering how it would end. 13. Secret Window - Johnny Depp was eating an awful lot of Doritos plus I was surprised at how young Mario Bello looked. Pretty good film - a bit of gore near the end but mostly psychological. 14. White Zombie from 1932 with Bela Lugosi (on Turner Classic Movie channel). 15. The Mark of the Vampire with Bela Lugosi (again) - this was pretty good with a surprise ending. (1935)
16. Viral - pretty gory with lots of blood - ewww - a story of some teenagers who are stranded in a house after a viral outbreak of a disease that makes people into semi-zombies (sort of).
17. A Christmas Horror Story with William Shatner - I enjoyed this one - so much over the top blood letting - I was mostly laughing rather than cringing throughout.
18. Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Helena Bonham Carter - this was a fun movie with a few good laughs as well as a performance by Alice Cooper.

49.) It Follows (2014). WTH, some sort of supernatural STD??! What's next? Gross. One of the characters (Keir Gilchrist) looks so much like a young Justin Long it's uncanny. IMDb rating is 6.9/10, so there are viewers out there who enjoyed this, but I wasn't one of them.

50.) Circle (2015). Re-watch. This one's more of a mystery/thriller. I liked it - even the second time around. And I got more out of the ending this time. An interesting view of modern-day psychological issues and prejudice and bias (some of it possibly on a subconscious level). Which can rear its ugly head when people are put in life-threatening situations.

51.) Apostle (2018). Two hours and ten minutes. Too long, but I thought it was very good. Never saw a religious cult movie set in 1905. At least it was an original storyline. IMDb rated it 6.4/10. (And gave It Follows a 6.9??! Something stinks in suburbia.)

I’ve got two if that makes you feel better Well I guess technically we should watch at least one movie every day? (Something like that?) I'm not sure - just know that I'm not always in the mood for a scary movie.
So now I am trying to catch up with those who have racked up some big numbers. It's not like we get a prize or anything (like an all expense trip down to Florida to visit the King family in their mansion)
(oops sorry - that sounded sort of Annie Wilkes of me)

11. Cucuy. Meh, don't bother. It's a Mexican boogeyman but not a real interesting plot. Hollywood ending stuff. 12. I Drink Your Blood. Interesting. A seventies flick that has a grind house vibe. A kid gets revenge on some hippie devil cult that did his sister and grandfather wrong. The revenge goes awry though. Worth one watch but not something I'll be putting on channel 99. 13. Pet Semetary. Just because. We all know this one. We all like this one. 14. Pumpkin Head. Also just because. Will God damn you for not watching this one? "He already has, Ed Harley, He already has." So why risk it? This one has so much atmosphere and strange backwoods goodness. 15. House of Dark Shadows. Barnabus is in love. Barnabus wants to be human again. In the end it doesn't work. The makeup looked exactly like they did Bowie in "The Hunger".
I'm so far behind I'll never catch up.

Final movies from the past few days...
52.) Dig Two Graves (2014). A very unique plot, but unfortunately they did an abysmal job with the backstory (which was the most interesting part of the movie). I knew it was the actor from The Silence of the Lambs (Ted Levine) from his voice alone!! He was playing a bearded, older character in the beginning and I didn't recognize him - until the first time he spoke a few sentences!
53.) The Lodgers (2017). Another movie that could've been SO much better! It had the look of The Others (2001) with a supernatural Flowers in the Attic storyline. Ewwww...

54.) The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). Not much more to say about this classic. It's one of my favorites and holds a very dear place in my heart. Jack + Sally + Zero 4ever!!! d094
55.) Queen of the Damned (2002). One I seem to watch almost every year. Amazing soundtrack - Disturbed and some original songs from Korn's lead singer (Jonathan Davis). But the soundtrack for Dracula 2000 was even better.

During November! Is this even legal? Nope! I finished Queen of the Damned around 10 p.m. last night. Didn't have a chance to post on the SKMB before it closed and wanted to finish off my list over here.
