29.) Mother! (2017). Not sure what all the hype was about when this was first released. Still not sure WTH I watched. What a bizarre movie. I looked up some reviews and various plot explanations of this film. I figured out the literary ones, but the Biblical elements completely escaped me.

smilie_sonst_093 Hmmm - would an episode of "Wife Swap" be considered a horror?

I'm 16 days behind! morgan - my son saw Mother and told me not to see it - he said it would disturb me. DanaJean saw it and really wanted someone to discuss it with, she'll be very happy you watched it. I read reviews too. I think it was all supposed to be a {Spoiler} metaphor for what we are doing to the earth - Mother was actually Mother Earth, if that explains it any better. Should I watch?

#7. The Exorcist II- the heretic. Holy crap. Literally. Nothing like the original. Not scary in the least. Locusts. Two Regons. Richard Burton priest. Nothing helped.
I liked Mother okay but wasn't very scared by it. Sort of a mothers love eternal story.

I will probably watch this one this year but remember hearing that it was disappointing.

1. American Werewolf in London Still good to see again (I had it saved in my PVR thingy) 2. Lake Placid - watched this morning - Bill Pullman and Bridget Fonda - about a giant crocodile 3. Repulsion (1965) with Catherine Deneuve - more like a psychological drama but has some horror moments in it. 4. Joy Ride - a trucker terrorizes three young people after being the victim of a practical joke. 5. The Hills Have Eyes - A suburban American family is being stalked by a group of psychotic people who live in the desert, far away from civilization. (Not the original from 1977). 6. Crazies on AMC (part of the Fear Fest) - remake of the 1973 film by George A. Romero 7. The Exorcist (the original one) - I remember seeing this at the theatre in a small town we lived in when I was still in high school. Read the book first so didn't jump a lot when the frightening scenes occurred. 8. Apt Pupil, based on the book by Stephen King (another one in my PVR) - my son's friend was shocked at the scene with the cat.
9. The Brave One with Jodie Foster - while not technically a horror film it has quite a bit of violence - this is a pretty good movie.

Hmmm...not sure how to answer. I wonder why he thought it would disturb you. If you do watch, let me know your feelings about the possible "religious" elements. *hugs*

31.) You Get Me (2017). Nope. It was a teenage version of Fatal Attraction, but not a good one.

32.) The Fly (1986). I forgot how utterly gruesome this movie is! But, you have to give a lot of credit to the special effects team. For as old as this film is, the transformation images were incredible.
Thanks again wireman for letting me know where to find this one!

33.) Emelie (2015). Another disappointing evil babysitter movie. A disturbing scene involving a snake. I'm still not 100% sure about the back story - they should've expanded on that a lot more.

Does anyone remember this guy and the movie he was in? My cousin is posting scary characters on her facebook wall. You might have to be as old as me to know him. Creepy... {Spoiler} God is in his holy temple....

morgan {Spoiler} I think he was referring to the altar/baby scene. Since we're (meaning ME, since I'm the only one who ever goes to Mass) are Catholic, that would be kind of hard to take - to see - because of the altar, the eucharist, etc. But if it was intended to be a metaphor about Mother Earth and her destruction, it would make sense - in so many ways. Yet totally grotesque and somewhat umm... what's the word - oh, I think maybe blasphemous - but mostly the visual would be hard to watch. I think I would understand the religious parts. Maybe not much else. I'll see if it's on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime and try it.

Not sure how bad it truly was. I'm not very helpful, am I? Lol

I've been listening to Lore while I fall asleep. It's kind of boring. I keep wanting to watch The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix, that mom's jawline scares me though. That's as far as I get . Mom clenching her jaw, and I 'm out! We're big chicken babies.

Do you know who that is? {Spoiler} That's the dreaded Rev. Henry Kane from Poltergiest 2. The first one was great but 2 was not. But Kane was creepy.
