A very funny story (at least the second half of it) and it helps to read the article Spidey posted. The story starts off as a seemingly straight forward ghost story before it pivots to humor.

And my favorite line of the story (after the ghost fell out of a chair):
"You have broken off the end of your spinal column, and littered up the floor with chips off your hams till the place looks like a marble yard."

From a haunting tale to humor. Really enjoyed this story. Twain does it again with his humor. wireman, agree that is the best line in the story.
