The is a be careful what you wish for story. Immortality sounds great but immortality causes Winzy great loneliness and pain. Life becomes unsatisfying for Winzy when he has unlimited time. Time becomes an enemy.
The themes of isolation and loneliness are also in Frankenstein.

Always be careful what you ask for in life---so true. Immortality both a blessing and a curse. Winzy's life improved and he won Bertha= happiness. However, Bertha aged and died. Winzy wants to die, he loses family, and a loved one = curse.
