I said I was done but I caved when I saw the digital version was the extended cut.
Going to start with the con's, the audio on the dialog is just a wee bit too low not unlike Inception.
The writers are up to something with the new spin on Halloween, Michael is more calculating, more diabolical, and I think they're going for more of a psychological twist. There's been mentions of windows he'd look through, how he enjoyed others in torment, and how he'd be happy he got a lynch mob tearing up the town looking for him. I think just maybe what Michael truly wants is to see Haddonfield in flames, the question is why? Then there's still Laurie, the sister thing is not in play but he does seem to want her to suffer the most.
So I'm thinking something happened in Haddonfield that played into a young boy becoming a supernatural agent of chaos, but gonna have to wait until October to find out what.
Wanted to tear apart more but a lot of it would involve tearing apart every scene which nah...
The only shame to all of this, I like Halloween 4-6 for nostalgic reasons and they were fun, but despite liking those films, I can't help but wish Halloween Kills was what was released instead of Halloween 4-8, just far more of a psychological treat.

While the film is a total horror film, the way it pays tribute to earlier Halloween films is fun, even the one Halloween film Michael wasn't in. In one scene he leaves behind a few "treats" in masks he "found", it not only pays tribute to Halloween 3, which is still one of my fave films of the franchise, even though Michael wasn't in it, it also pays tribute to another film. But I won't say which since I don't want to reveal all the "easter eggs". Just based on the pic above, its obvious they actually loved the earlier films.. The easter egg above is an obvious one, anyone who has seen the earlier films will see it right away, but there some that are far less obvious. I'm curious if they'll explain why he waited 40 years to go finish whatever he has in store for Haddonfield. I don't care if they reveal where he gets his power from, but I am curious as to why he waited 40 years. I mean there technically doesn't have to be a reason, he's the Shape.. and the Shape just seems to like to make others suffer when he feels like it. I totally forgot why some referred to him as the Shape eons ago, but that was his "nickname" for years.
