Awhile back I had an Ezine called Ookie Spookie, a play on Nightmare B4 Xmas and my brain...
It featured band interviews, pics of alt models with interviews with the girls, band reviews, and well that was it. It did well but it was limiting. But a lot of friends have been saying there needs to be another goth/dark oriented forum people where people can talk about politics, random chit chat, band stuff, etc, and so on.... So I made this today after poking around Free Forums.
It already features a hot topic section, a small talk section, a band section, a promotional section, a toy section, and for the first time ever, a place for fans of all things dark to maybe get a shoulder to lean. Well actually that section isn't up yet, need to build more members first, no point otherwise. Then there's bandcamp band of the week, etc, and so on.
It isn't "goth only", its for "dark" music like Danzig, Bauhaus, Sisters, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Ghost, and other dark bands, and for those who are happier in the dark so to speak. No, it isn't PG, it will be closer to NC-17 so kids are not welcome on the site, I will be ban anyone I find on the forum who is younger than 17. Due to the political stuff, and the alt model section which will be added soon, just won't be safe for the kids.
Will also be a place to promote new dark themed bands, movies, and whanot as well.
With the way the world is going right now, which is very Stand like, more now than ever are into dark themed things, horror is on the rise, goth and black metal bands are more popular than ever, so this seemed like the right time to bring Ookie Spookie back. The original ezine was all about taking the dark world and making it fun rather than a nightmare, hoping the new version does the same. But the old OS had primarily readers and viewers, while this version will rely on contributors, which may be the challenge. Instagram and kiddie social media sites have hurt trad forums a lot, so hard to say if this will work or not but worth a shot...
Ookie Spookie 2.0I still need to add a few plug is and make a better banner, just tossed up a quick one using MS Paint, bust open photoshop this week... if it still works.

Thanks.. Now the fun part, getting people away from FB to play on it... Some joined already but haven't figured it out, I mean forums are a different animal than FB and Twitter. Better animal... but that's just my personal opinion. |

But couldn't register for some oddball reason. I noticed after coming here after first logging in at the Ookie Spookie forum, I just had to click log in and I was logged right into this forum. In short, I don't think you have to register, just log into this site, then go to the Ookie Spookie one and click on log in rather then register and see what happens. I mean makes sense, this forum and the OS forum are hosted by the same database, so re-registering on every forum on the same database, that would just be messy. As for the Ookie Spookie forum, I added some new fun stuff... First off, this is for Spookie Chicks 2022, just a thread to post pretty spooky girls. ookiespookie.freeforums.net/threads/recent/22Those who arent into pretty spooky girls are welcome to start a thread for spooky guys, and that doesn't mean they have to look "goth", for example, I'd say the guy from GOT who was Aquaman is kind of a spooky guy... and of course Johnny Depp has had a spooky look in numerous films, and in real life these days, and Danzig, numerous WWE guys, etc, and so on... I also added the default shoutbox to the bottom of the forum so people can just have real time chat and a few of the girls have started posting some DIY stuff. Hard as hell to get people to transition from FB to an old school forum, but I'm not gonna stop pushing it. Besides, Facebook is going to add a dating section to their site, think that's going to chase some away.. and may as well try to grab a few of them as they flee.  |

I have done it before on another Proboards forum,
to check out something important.
Honestly I don't have time for another forum other than the Playground here.
This is home for me. 🙂💓
But yours looks cool as hell,
and would like to stop in and check things out
as well as give some support and say 'hey' every once in awhile. 🙂

Just not my sup of tea, man. So many social platforms since 94... bounced from one to another, IRC was my fave but its basically dead, forums would be second best. I just think they allow things to be better "organized" than Facebook. One issue, a lot of people like everything "in one place" these days, and Facebook is the Walmart of social platforms, it has groups for individual bands, movies, etc, and it has the general feed for just random brain farts, and it has real time chat, and it has this and it has that. But I find it actually is a HUGE mess. But it is better than Myspace or Twitter, which isn't saying much... if anything at all... |

Lol, the 'Vampirella' fan art is good and pretty cool,
but I am a die hard Frazetta fan from WAY back.
(Warren Publishing was the bomb! the muskrat daddy knows all about those works. 😊)
Man, I could start a way cool thread like that for spooky/fierce guys, such as BWS and Frazetta's Conan and more artworks.
As well as include a lot of other iconic photography and art. Awwwrrrrrsome eye candies, bud.🙂

I got my first computer back in 2007,
had NO idea what the hell I was doing,
(still don't! 😂😉)
Been teaching myself ever since.
Lol, I never read King's "On writing",
I found the SKMB because when I did get a computer,
and learned how to point and click,
one of the first things I looked for was
SK's website.
That led to finding out about the SKMB. 😊
...I chalk it all up to Ka and Karma. 😉

It's is a collection of all your forum accounts that have been created using the same email address, and
it is also a master login for your accounts. Using just your single email address and password you can log in to all your accounts saving the need to remember different login credentials. |

So that "add on" that Proboards has for Android and Iphones seems to make it easy for people who are phone junkies to do almost everything one can do on a pc, except use the "shoutbox".
Damn phones...
Next step, checking out Edge now that it works on Windows 7, MS always has added special goodies to their browser that Chromium based browsers don't...

Livejournal was a happy medium, was fine with that and IRC, along with ICQ for file transfers and for those who couldn't figure out IRC but wanted to chit chat. But Facebook is just a nightmare, used to be a setting that allowed it to show posts by current to earlier but they appear to have gotten rid of it, so its basically all based on some weird algorithm. The layout is noisy while being vanilla, and most just post meme's. I stick around for one band group and two friends on my list who refuse to use message boards. Got two loyal members on the OS board though so they're promoting it as well. May end up with a lot of Euro members, they seem down with it more than US internet kiddies, don't know why. |

The plan is for it to be fun but I really need to start updating it more, been working on it very slowly and adding things here and there. So far its mainly women members, so its been very, very peaceful. I'm not implying that guys are trouble makers, but more often than not, most internet trouble does come from guys. Its a guy thing I guess... |
