Well woke up before sun. Watched weather on locals and that channel where that is all they do...
Forecast calling for 10 more inches now on top of what we have already been blessed with. Winds are supposed to continue in the 30 MPH range until late Sunday. Could be much worse I know. Down on coast winds and rain have caused much more damage.
Hope Sundrop can check in some. Looks like Florence is going to pay her a visit starting late today. Sunny's area tends to not handle a lot of water very well. I'm okay so far. The rain has just started to come. Our county emergency management opened a shelter location at 5 this evening. We're gonna get wet, there's no doubt about that. I'm hoping it won't be as bad had has been forecast. Hope Y'all stay safe and dry, Kidd!!

Wilmington, NC got hit pretty hard. They were in the eye of the hurricane earlier this afternoon, and facing the backside of it now. I'm not supposed to get my portion of the storm until tomorrow through Monday night. I'm as prepared as I can be. Main concern is flash flooding.....and the neighbor's tree that could land on my car/house due to the ground already being so saturated. Will check in as long as I have power. ♥ Good to hear from you Sunny. All in the path of this terrible storm are in our thoughts and prayers. I wondered if you have a basement or do some people have their own shelters?
I have a basement, but that's the last place you want to be in a flood situation. Most of the people I know will go to a public shelter if needed. There might be some folks in other areas that have a shelter space, but I'm not sure......that's a good question!

Been raining non stop since 3 on Friday. Heaviest rainfall is supposed to be tonight and tomorrow. Oh boy.
Sunny the doublewide has a nice and dry toasty 1200 square feet...
You know if it gets too bad up in them hills...
Look after yourself please and I even hope that BF made it through OK.

Schools are the evac places here, and not the best. Do you need to worry about mudslides? Continued prayers and positive vibes. Been watching weather channel-- Florence will be around for awhile. Be safe. Take no chances.

Yes Ma'am, mudslides will be a major concern here as well as the flooding. They've closed the portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the area for mudslide concerns. We're getting increased winds and more rain now. So far, I'm still in good shape. Still worried about the tree next door, but have taken every precaution that I can. Wilmington is a mess, but BF is okay. They still have rain coming down and tornadoes have been spotted. I think they are allowing some people to return to their homes on the Outer Banks today. However, there are still some flooded roads and closed bridges, so not everyone can return.

Continue to stay safe. Yes, Weather channel and CNN reporting some allowed back. They also say some rivers may not bank until Tues. Very dangerous indeed. Thank BF is ok. Going to be a lot of clean-up ans with that comes scams. Continued safe vibes. Be watchful of the tree. Hot here and extremely humid. Index was 105 yesterday! Be very careful if and when you do go out. Trees tend to fall even after the rain has stopped.

Breaking news about now tropical storm Florence...
It's still bringing torrential rain down upon our soaked heads. Been falling non-stop since around 3PM Friday afternoon. I am starting to know how Forrest Gump felt in Vietnam. Even the animals are pairing up on their own and knocking on my door. If you look at radar of NC and see that giant orange/yellow spot right in center, I am under there somewhere.
A lot of school systems, and many colleges, will be closed tomorrow. Almost entire state is in a flash flood watch or warning.
On the bright side, we have not lost power...yet.
Supposed to finally move out sometime tomorrow.
Thought I would update y'all some.

H Micheal strengthens and "could" possibly strengthen more to a Cat 5 before landfall. ALL in it's path- take this seriously. This is life threatening, historical. The tidal surge will be massive.
landfall is predicted between 1- 4PM today.
Those on Georgia, Alabama, N and S Carolina- anyone in the potential path watch and be prepared. My thoughts and prayers are with all. Please use this MB to ck in as you are able.
