Wilmington, NC got hit pretty hard. They were in the eye of the hurricane earlier this afternoon, and facing the backside of it now. I'm not supposed to get my portion of the storm until tomorrow through Monday night. I'm as prepared as I can be. Main concern is flash flooding.....and the neighbor's tree that could land on my car/house due to the ground already being so saturated. Will check in as long as I have power. ♥

I am ok - Florence should not be an issue as long as it stays on track. Am a tad concerned about Isaac which travels west toward the gulf.
Prayer and thoughts to all in the path of Florence. It will be a long duration event.

It will be a long duration event. YOU better be OK or I will personally try and whoop this here Isaac and his momma, don't care if she goes by that haughty "Mother Nature" nom de plume. (Whatever that is)... Anyway started raining here around 3, I am in almost the geographic center of NC, with wind gusts over 40 MPH occasionally. Right now in a lull but weather people are calling for between 10 and 15 inches of rain here over weekend from miss Flo... A few dead trees have been blown over at my place but no healthy trees yet. Saturation of ground may cause some problems soon but as of now all is good.

Well woke up before sun. Watched weather on locals and that channel where that is all they do...
Forecast calling for 10 more inches now on top of what we have already been blessed with. Winds are supposed to continue in the 30 MPH range until late Sunday. Could be much worse I know. Down on coast winds and rain have caused much more damage.
Hope Sundrop can check in some. Looks like Florence is going to pay her a visit starting late today. Sunny's area tends to not handle a lot of water very well.

Thankful you are doing ok. PLease stay safe and be careful. I so dislike "H's" ( as you may now that is one word I find difficult to speak Thoughts out to Sundrop and any others in the path. NOAA saying Isaac is post tropical. Hmmm we shall see. Kid please take care, I never feel safe until the are all gone bye bye. I pray the damage is minimal to you. Will your crops be OK with all that rain? Many positive thoughts your way. Hugs!!

Sending prayers to everyone in the path of this storm... I can only imagine how frightening this must be. I don't really know anybody on the forum yet, but I'm still worried for everyone (people and animals), please stay safe!

Cows will be happy and well fed this winter.
Soybeans may be effected some as many have tall vines which will be laid down due to both wind and flooding. Futures on those are uncertain anyway. (Was hoping to break even or perhaps make a little on them) Farming is a cool life when weather cooperates. Doesn't always work out though.

Will manifest the least amount of damage to your land. I loved in NYC in my youth, but summer were spent with grandparents on a dairy farm in the Catskill Mts. Days of hand milking. Guess I developed my love for the land and critters there. Help raise calves. Owner's wife cooked meal 3 times a day for the us -- two families each summer. They'd let me gather veggies and eggs, learned to milk. Real neat stuff for a city kid. Now 50 + years in rural Fl with "sand" and pine trees. I miss seasons and mts.
Just stay safe. Florence is a slow mover!!

I wondered if you have a basement or do some people have their own shelters?

(((Flo victims)))😔 So good to hear from you @doyouloveme19. Just heard on Provincial news that 5 people have lost their lives. They said it is a slow moving storm. I did see some video of NC last night on National News. Stay safe, we are thinking of you and in our prayers. (((do youlove19)))

Heartless, mean people praying on those who are down. Awful!! Stay safe Kidd.
