If I remember, this is the one where the couple is walking to the husband's boss' house, right? The neighborhood gets creepy and a monster appears from under the sidewalk?
I watched the episode on Nightmares and Dreamscapes, and kept meaning to revisit the story.
It's not one of my favorites, to be honest, so I still haven't re-read it.

Yeah, don’t the kids summon the monster? I don’t think you’re missing much, Dizzy— they end up in either a different dimension or maybe the underground world is hell. I really couldn’t say for sure and it’s sort of open to interpretation. The wife survived but lived with PTSD for years after that , right? Didn’t a cop disappear too during the investigation? I just assume those creepy kids go around luring people to the other dimension and the monster eats / kills them. |
