Mafex's 1:12 Geller Grindelwald (Here I Go Again)

..... Mafex steps in. Mafex isn't unlike Mezco, like Mezco they do 1:12 figures that are very well sculpted, include stands, and tons of extra's, and are 80-100 dollars. One difference, Mafex does not do the "cloth" thing, they instead go with rubber and plastic to make the "clothing", which does provide less "pop" then Mezco's 1:12 figures but I wasn't going to pass up their Gellert replica. The sculpt on this figure is top notch and comes with two head sculpts, can't really tell the difference between the two but I'm glad it came with two because sadly, one of them had glue residue on it, damn shame. But other than that flaw, the figure looks exactly like Depp from the film, reminds me of Depp emulating Bowie for some reason.
As seen above, every small detail was covered, the buckles, the boots, its all spot on. But Mafex just isn't in the same league as Mezco, they're closer to Neca which isn't a good thing since Neca charges 30-40, Mafex charges what Mezco does. However, when it comes to Depp as Gellert, this is as good as its going to get and it will go up in value for those who flip like I do. I however will not be flipping this figure because well, the wand broke a bit, still fits in the figures hand but its a bit shorter now, and as I said, one head had glue residue, and those two flaws, at best, I'd break even so there's just no point. And besides, I'm a Depp fan and this is the best replica I've seen, so even if I get sick of the whole Magical World Rowling's has created, I'll still want the figure.
You can still buy it for retail price for now but keep in mind, limited run and some are already selling them for 15% more than retail due to Depp stuff being highly collectible right now. And I do recommend this figure to Depp fans who don't even like the Harry Potter thing, I think its just a cool figure of Depp, well a blonde Depp but I think he pulls off the blonde thing very well.
