edwardjohn , when it comes to "Other Monsters/a variety of Monster"...what kind of setting?
A graveyard thing perhaps?😊
The different Monsters all come from the GRAVEYARD...then go out and cause all kinds o' hell in OTHER PLACES! 😄
Just another idea that has to get out of my head lol.😆
Not saying we should or would use these spur of the moment thinkings. 😊

Doesn't have to be the sole setting, I'd much prefer a sprawling story with a bunch of different locations that having set in a specific place. But that could most certainly work if the idea is good, take Romero's Dawn of the Dead for example, all set in a mall.

"Here is......
Our List Of GOALS :
1. Establish 'Theme'.
What IS this beautiful beast of a horror story,
that we will create, going to be about!?😊
(Everyone can definitely be brainstorming on THAT right here and now!)
2. All decide upon 1st, 2nd or 3rd Person.
3. Establish the simple rules that we will need.
Examples :
Setting the word count. Right now we are sticking with the usual 1,200 words for 1st and Last Chapters, and 750 words for the inbetween chapters.
Maintaining proper continuity.
(Within reason! Everyone is allowed to bring surprises and be CREATIVE!😊)
Being aware of, and having a proper "Beginning", "Middle" and "End".
Being considerate of the fellow writers following you.
Being careful with any introduction of new characters towards the "wrapping up" and "END" (around the last few chapters) of the story.
AGAIN, surprises are good! Be creative and spontaneous!
BUT also considerate and fairly logical about these things.
I WILL work with and help everyone out, should they need it, and as they need it.
Be happy, funny (if you so choose to be), wild and creative!
But NO "Stupid Maverick" or "Running Amokedness Dr. Jekyll's Mr. Hyde Style".
Be mindful of our boards rules and PG rating.
But also remember that GORE is acceptable and encouraged!
Be mindful (the best you can) of your word count,
and when your chapter is due,
and please have it done on time.
Submitting it to me in a PM for reading and editing. 🙂
4. Establishing the writers order.
(Around this time we will talk about our BACK UP PLANS if anyone has an emergency and has to bow out. I'll ask for volunteers from the writing pool willing to help out and be drawn, if anything like that should happen)
We will need volunteers for: 1st and Last Chapters.
(If anyone says they are willing to be put wherever they are needed, then they will included in the draw for these two chapters, UNLESS they tell me OTHERWISE.)
With that done, all other writer's shall be drawn at random to work the inbetween chapters.
5. Set the schedules!
(Now this stage,
I am going to get right on as soon as we know how many writers we finally have, after sign up.)
Examples :
Writing order.
Establish how long each writer has to complete their chapter.
When we begin all of the writing, and when we finish it.
And of course, when the publishing on the main public board will be.
Alright!...That is "Our List of Goals" (for now)!
We will cross things off of it as we get them done!
And we can add or tweak what I have written here, as we need to.
Everyone's opinion counts and is wanted and welcome!
But please remember the coordinator/Editor(Editrix)/Ramrod has the FINAL say.🙂
For all my usual posts,
I'll go ahead and use my usual "Wolf Eyes GREEN" font color.
For any lists or other updates/important announcements
I will use the "Halloween Honeycomb Hideout ORANGE".
....so the information will be easier to find, refer to, and bring up to our current pages if, when and as necessary. 🙂

I'm glad you said that,
I was thinking of something last night.
Last year we published the finished story to the public board
in a nice pumpkin gold/orange.
Orange and black are traditional Halloween colors.
But here in the U.S. in these latter years...
That color purple you are using, green and orange all popular Halloween colors.
I thought it might fun, during a down time
(like waiting for chapters to be written)
for the writers to vote on what color everyone would like to use this year. 🙂
I'm going to take note of the code for that violet
you are using, if I can.
I think it is pretty easy on the eyes to read like the orange and green.

Just something I thought might be fun,
we'll see what everyone else thinks and wants to do.
We just want to make sure
that whatever color we use,
it will be easy on the eyes to read in "Size 4 font"
...I KNOW that is the size font

Maybe we will do the color vote thing, maybe we won't.
We'll see.
The whole story needs to be all one color font though,
like last year.
We can't make this a PITA for Frank.
Or anyone else for that matter.
