about the project and the basic guidelines. 🙂
Last year Miss doyoulove19 ,
did say she would like to return
as our coordinator/Editrix/Ramrod!
We're going to give her time to get here and
let us know what she has going on.
Until then I'll be acting as a basic coordinator,
for this setting up and writers recruiting stage!

Alright, alright, alright!
“The 2021 Ka-tet Playground Halloween Story”
(Continuing a revered and beloved SKMB tradition!)
Last year was our fledgling flight!
This year we shall SOAR!
I just know it.😊
For any and all,
who might not remember or know about this writing adventure,
this story will be a GREAT work accomplished by contributing Playground Members
who sign up to take on a chapter of writing!
Any and all are welcome!
We will have writers of all kinds.
Of all calibers,
styles and backgrounds.
Novices are appreciated just as much as the experts!
And I do fully expect to see
fine contributors from previous years
come join us AGAIN! 😊
This project, first and foremost, is FUN.
We will all do our best work to the best of our varied abilities.
No Pulitzer Prize winners expected,
No grades on a report card,
or anything like that at all.😊
THIS THREAD:
is our INTODUCTION and “SIGN UP” thread.
And "Q & A" is perfectly fine here too!
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PARTICIPATE
AND CONTRIBUTE THEIR WRITING/STORY TELLING,
SIMPLY POST:
“Sign me up!”
This will be ONE STORY that all participants will agree upon.
Each writer will write a chapter,
continuing the story and introduced characters,
to the tale’s conclusion.

Alright, here below are our:
"Basic Guidelines/Procedures".
(Like I said in the previous post, ask questions and you will receive answers. 🙂)
1. SIGN UP. ----- we’re already there people, right here and now!
After we get important formalities out of the way,
the tagging and hollerin' people home shall commence! 😊
THE END OF THE SIGN UP TIME WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON...just not today. 😊
2. Coordinator/Editor(Editrix)/Ramrod. ----we’re already there too!
Not engraved in stone as to who that will be exactly,
but the stone is chosen, and sumthin’ is written in Black Sharpie already, lol.
The duties of the coordinator/editor are:
to organize and set schedules, set and enforce rules,
edit (working with each author in a considerate, reasonable fashion),
keeping things running smoothly, peacefully, correctly
….and really just herdin’ all the cool (sometimes crazy) cat writers .
It is a position that requires time and full attention.
BUT we have found in times past the writers
are so very helpful in many ways to the coordinator.
(It is a really nice bonding experience that goes on in this project, too.😊)
3. During sign up
(about mid way through)
Commander osnafrank ,
will create a secret hidden thread just for the writers!
It’s cool!
“The Halloween Honeycomb Hideout/Clubhouse”!
The SIGNED UP, Confirmed writers....
(YES PLEASE! You must say "Sign Me Up!". 😊)
....will all be given a link via PM to this special thread.
There, they will check in and let everyone know thay have found it,
and have kept the link in their PM and /or bookmarked the thread.
So they can get back to it again and find it easily,
as it is not visible on the board to all who are not writing/participating.
If anyone still manages to get lost a long the way,
well then...we'll tag you get you where you're suppo' to be!
It worked last year! 😊
This special hidden thread is set up...
BECAUSE…the story is a great surprise for all of our other tet-mates,
when it is released ONE CHAPTER AT A TIME
to the main Playground board.😃
That is a something that will come LATER. 😉
4. When the above is accomplished,
(and all writers have arrived in the hidden thread, and are ready)
Discussions will begin in an orderly fashion.
(some kidding around and fun is always allowed and enjoyed,
but we will stay focused at the same time
and not let anything get out of hand. 😊)
This is the time when the coordinator/editor
will set rules and guidelines for the story.
Things that will be covered are:
Theme of the tale (basically what it will be about), first or second person, etc…,
tense- past or present, tone
and other very important ingredients such as these.
These things are all FLEXIBLE,
we simply want to maintain CONTINUITY,
have a beginning middle and end.
And keep things reasonably logical!
CREATIVITY and wildness that is appropriate is heartily encouraged!
…within REASON if it fits the story!
(Any “Stupid Maverick” and “Running Amokedness” shall be roped, wrangled and held in check!
That part isn't as terrible as it sounds, lol! That can be a lot of fun too!😄😉)
Word limit on each piece/chapter.
Another very important part of all of this.
1st and last chapters – 1,500 words maximum.
In between chapters – 750 word maximum.
It is absolutely fine to go UNDER these maximum limits.
Chapters can be composed in PM's,
or be composed on computers, copy and pasted into PM's.
All will be submitted to the coordinator/editor via PM. 🙂
AND very importantly,
TIME LIMIT TO COMPLETE YOUR CHAPTER IS FIRM!
....to the point of Rigor Mortis!😊
Those last things are really not too flexible at all, lol.
But each writer will be given the max amount of time available,
to accomplish their task/part/chapter as comfortably as possible.
Should an emerency occur,
we will have back up and safe guards in place to handle it all.
Hope Fully that nothing like that does happen. 🙂
5. CONTENT….this is another very important component.
This board has 5 simple, quite clear rules.

6. Number of Chapters/writers.
This figure will vary.
In the past 12 has been the general rule of thumb.
But we can always go more, or less.
Last year we had 10 writers/chapters.
We can go alittle less if necessary
…we are starting this story up a wee bit later this year.
We will carry on the great SKMB tradition successfully and respectfully
with great love and admiration for our former home. 🙂❤ 
…But we are also allowed
to make this project uniquely the “Ka-tet Playground's” tradition too.🙂❤
