Also Another Heroes I Like is Mario an Luigi an Yoshi lol an Villians Bowser an The Koopas. They are Classic Ones. Too I'm just going with one tonight. Lara Croft from the rebooted franchise, just far more realistic, loads of depth, great acting, and a solid story so far. The original first two Tomb Raiders are on the list, but after the second, it was obvious Core ran out of ideas, they just had her do the same stuff in every game after until the reboot that Crystal Dynamics did. I think they figured, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but that always ends bad because stories need to evolve to stay fresh, otherwise fans start becoming non fans.

Another Hero i Like it The Master Chief from The Halo Series. Here are a few other favorites, I don't really have favorites from before video games actually had voice acting and actual decent stories, but there are a few. Claire Redfield (Resident Evil 2/Code Veronica) Leon (Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 6) Duke Nukem (numerous games) Pierce and Shaundi (Saints Row 3 and 4, didn't care for them much in the second game) Dracula (Lords Of Shadow 2) Max Payne (just the first game, I just thought they overdid the Mona thing in the second and the third was too much of a departure)

Deviancy I agree about the reboot Lara croft, it was good to see her become a much more rounded character. I really enjoyed the 1st 2 in the new series, I'm still only part way through shadow of the tomb raider.
A lot of characters seemed to mature and become more well rounded in recent years. 2 of the biggest are Nathan Drake from uncharted, and Kratos from God of War.
Nate stopped just trying to get rich quick, treasure hunting this time to save his brother, but having to hide it to save his relationship, and by the end of it realises it's always been about the rush of the chase rather than the riches.
Kratos stopped just being a ruthless killer who killed anyone or anything in his path, and became a father trying to teach his son how not to make his mistakes, how to be a good person. His latest journey was about honouring his late wife's memory. His participation in the epic battles with the main antagonist is reluctant.
These changes took these great games to the next level.
Another of my favourite heroes is ezio auditore from the assassin's creed 2 trilogy. But, my 2 favourite characters though are Joel and Ellie from the last of us. Joel's complexity and blurred lines made him a phenomenal character. He's both the hero and the villain.

Crystal Dynamics did an outstanding job re-inventing Lara, she was empowered before but they empowered her more, tossed the Barbie waist and the Jessica Rabbit boobs and gave her a more realistic female body, and she actually looks more attractive, she looked like a sex doll with guns in Core's TR games. Ezio is on my last, Raziel from Soul Reaver, and Kane and Lynch from Kane and Lynch. There's so many cool characters out there but I think in the end, Lara and Raziel may be the winners, Raziel had such a good story behind him and an excellent voice actor.

Another cool character from video games is Sam Fisher from the Tom Clancy brand. He is the main character of Splinter Cell. I heard Tom Hardy will be playing in the film, should be a good match since Fisher has Max like qualities and Hardy did a fine job as Mad Max. My only issue with the character, he was a little "too old", he was allegedly born in 57, so he'd be like 60 in Conviction, special ops training or not, he wouldn't have had that kind of stamina that he did in that game at that age. I think what they'll eventually is add a new side character who will take his place in the franchise. One issue, Clancy is dead as far as I know, so they'd have to create their own character or use a younger pre-existing character.

Don't know what the status of the movie is at the present time. He will do good if they are still planning on using him for the movie. I have never known the exact date of Sam's birth. But I do understand some of the criticisms of Conviction and Blacklist. But I still enjoy both games. If you thought what he did in the final game was over the top, you might not have seen the original game concept. The original concept was made by members of the original team. They had Sam being able to pick up printers and throw them as weapons. He could also pick up and use chairs as weapons. He also had punches and kicks.

I have never known the exact date of Sam's birth. They didn't really give his age up until Conviction, the flashback scenes were from Desert Storm which was 1990, so he'd have to have been at least 18, but then they revealed how old his daughter was, which made it obvious he was at least in his late 40's at the time of Conviction. As for the kicking and throwing, that would have meant spending more on developing more rag doll physics, but it would have been cool. Oh well...

I have totally lost track of upcoming games, so many from the past are being released on GOG lately that it's retro heaven.
Just Cause 2 just was tossed up on GOG. Never heard of it? It's a wild third person open world game where one plays a revolution type of hero and goes around destroying drug cartels. The first one bombed because the controls were bad, and aerial stuff had a lot of flaws, but the second fixed all that and its a blast. He can be stealthy or go toe to toe, up to the player, and tons and tons of weapons are at his disposal. GOG isn't going super cheap with it however, its 20 at the moment which is the basic price of a game that old.
The environment he's in isn't unlike Far Cry, very village like since I believe it's supposed to be a rural part of Mexico or Cuba, I can't remember which, so no big cities but that just makes it easier to hide.

I hate the microtransactions of games today. I would have liked to play the original version of Conviction myself. The gameplay mechanics would have been cool to play it.
