Great picture of you, Neesy. Cool sign, too- where'd you buy it?I bought it a few years ago and I think it was one of those cheap stores - Dollar store or something similar
Took it to work once and they put it in the Medical Billing section - they got a good kick out of it

Such a lovely Picture !! Those girls are a lot of fun to be with - I'm glad to have made their acquaintance.
Not sure if I can make it to Dodge City, Kansas in 2020 for the next King Kon - guess I better start saving my pennies!
(I hope I can be there)

I should probably know this, but what's the significance of Dodge City, Kansas in the SKU? neesy

neesy - that is a super cute picture of you! And the one of the gals from the SKMB too!
I don't know if I'll make it either. Time will tell. I've been to Kansas for a football game a long time ago - I liked it there, though. I'd LIKE to go, but ya know - who knows how things will be then? Our kids are that endearing, struggling for independence yet totally needy time of their lives - teens/young adults. I might even be a grandma by then! No one is PG yet, but our 27 year old has baby fever and our 18 year is practically married, so it's possible. I'm already picking out names. I think we'll call the Ogre "Grumpy" and I'll be "Gran" .
morgan - I don't think there is a significance other than Kansas being "in and out" of some of the books (I think it was in The Stand for sure, maybe?). The big factor in choosing it was it's central locality - almost in the middle of all coasts. It was a 10 hour drive for us from Memphis and we were about 20 years younger. I'd like to be there. What I'd really like to do is be the owner of private resort on a private island and invite our Tet for free - and send my Leer jet to pick everyone up, get Bobby Flay to come and cook - Wouldn't that be nice?

Bobby Flay's a great choice. I absolutely ADORE Jacques Pepin, but he's not a spring chicken anymore.
Sure wish I could've attended one of the Kons in Maine. *Sigh* Another great lesson in seizing the day.

I should probably know this, but what's the significance of Dodge City, Kansas in the SKU? neesy As far as I can tell it looks like Scott (GNTLGNT) has started planning for everyone to go to Dodge City in Kansas and the theme will be "The Gunslinger" - I guess he chose that location as it is more or less smack dab in the middle and that way it would enable people to come from all over.
We've already done Maine (twice) - the first one was 2013 and the most recent one was 2018 (I had to miss the 2013 one)
The next one was in Ohio for The Shawshank Prison (2014) - that was a good one and we enjoyed touring the prison.
Then in 2016 (they decided to start having them every two years) it was held in Colorado for "The Shining" themed one (which I had to miss - dangit!) - that was the one where Kurt came from Sweden.
...and now the final one will be in Dodge City, Kansas
I was happy to meet doowopgirl and her hubby from Ireland last summer - that was great
I'll have to start saving my money as I see it is 15 hours from my place! That's a long trip! And knowing us we would turn it into a 3 or 4 day trip if we decided to drive that far. We like to stop along the way and take our time.

Looks like Tull in its better days. They have a museum there - looks like an Old West town
You should Google it - all I know about Dodge City is the expression:
"Looks like it's time to get out of Dodge!"
