I put more time into looking over a few of Mezco's 1:12 figures, and I gotta say, the Hellboy is probably the best bang for the buck since they didn't just sculpt really cool heads and stitch a fabric outfit to a generic six inch body, they sculpted most of the figure, the torso has the scars, the line of hair on the back, two guns, and outfit wise, they nailed the belt he wears in the film, every little detail in the film that's on the belt is on the figures belt, which is a pouch, holster, and numerous other things.  Disclaimer: the yellow thing coming from the gun is not included, that's from another figures gun but it actually works with the guns the Hellboy comes with, go figure. 1000Toys makes the really detailed 1:12 version of the comic book Hellboy, they seem to have stopped making them already, but its a solid sculpt as well but there's not a lot of facial detail because, well, Mignola doesn't use a lot of facial detail in the comic.  They're both cool and die hard fans, I'm sure they'll want both... No clue yet as to when they'll be putting their Eric Draven on pre-order, but I guarantee, the pre-orders will sell out fast, so hopefully they'll do a second run. |

There's still no pre-order info on the Eric Draven figure Mezco is doing, the last I checked. They're currently working on Predator and a few others, so I'm thinking they'll for a release date around Halloween. That second Hellboy, from 1000Toys, the same company makes a Dante figure, its a bit pricey, I shelled out 125, and it's not really cloth based like Mezco's 1:12 line, the pants and shirt are rubber, the coat is like vinyl with wires embedded in it so it can be bent around for different types of poses. However, its pretty solid figure. But instead of doing 2-3 head sculpts, they did 3 faces that pop on and off of the head, and its far more delicate, it would be easy to break the peg for the head off and be screwed. So I decided to stick with the default face.... it looks cool enough. Then there's a lever that can protrude from the back of the coat to hold one of the swords, and it comes with two swords and two guns and multiple hands.  |

Mezco showed off pics of the 1:12 Michael Myers from Halloween 2 not too long ago, no word on the pre-order as of yet. It will be part of the same line that has Eric Draven however. Their first 1:12 of Michael Myers from Halloween 1, it was 80 dollars when it was released not that long ago, goes for about 200-300 now, so I'm keeping an eye out on the second one. Why do two 1:12's of Michael, different look, the mask was changed a bit, and it lets them do a second head sculpt with the blood coming out of the eyes, which was due to Jamie shooting him in the head, and it was when it was obvious he was supernatural. That's another thing I don't care for when it comes to the Blumhouse film, it retconned Halloween 2, and not only did that, it did so just a few years before the film hit its 40th anniversary mark, which I think it hit this year. The figure Mezco is doing is to celebrate the 40th anniversary, while ignoring the Blumhouse reboot. Release date.. I'm predicting around October, just like the Eric Draven. Probably will come with a lit up Jackolantern that has a front face that comes off and shows a skull, that's always been the accessory other companies have used. Head sculpt wise, just probably two because unlike Pennywise, Michael really only has one facial expression since he wears a mask, the blood from the eyes gives them something to play with however.  |

By the way, Neca does have a cloth 8 inch version of Myers from the first film, second, and the Blumhouse turd, they retail for 40 but they just don't sculpt as well as Mezco.

I may have jumped the gun on when Mezco finally releases the Eric Draven figure.
They've been known to show figures a good 3 years before their release date, looks like they may be waiting for the 30th anniversary.
Can't blame them, the franchise is kind of dead at the moment, the goth thing is obsolete and the reboot never happened and the sequels failed, so the timing isn't ideal.
I think it still would sell well but as well as their upcoming Predator figure.

I don't really collect them either, I keep one or two and sell the rest for a small profit, I don't sit on them long enough but I don't have a lot space to store things. Anywho, the one I'm about to a review may be a keeper and get modded, I'll explain in the review I'm about to post. |

Actually, you know what? I think I'm going to little psychological breakdown on the whole adults being the main toy collectors these days, it plays into the Peter Pan complex, which I recall calling it long before human behavioral experts, but well, I don't get credit, sniff. |

That was totally different era for the internet, everyone was into LJ, using AIM, ICQ, or Yahoo Messenger, and relying more on talk than pics, I mean the option to send pics was there, so people were sending nudies even back then, but dialog came first, for most. But all of that, totally off topic and I got a new review to write, broke my own rules again. I do that a lot... |

Well I do try not to go off topic but the rule I broke, my own set rule about not buying anymore figures until the fall. But well, one of the online shops had a 25% sale on a few of the 1:12 Mezco figures, Jason being one of them. Still no update on the Eric Draven figure, and all of their summer releases have been pushed to late fall or early winter, so I think they took on too many projects and now are dealing with delays. But I prefer them taking their time QC wise. A new Ozzy figure is due out soon, from some new company. The sculpt isn't all that but its only 17 dollars... Ozzy is still cool but I still need to hear the latest album, I mean a duet with Elton John, that's wild. |

Not going to do a new thread for this just yet since its a ways off until its released, and they're saying March through May is when it may be released, but Mezco is known to delay release dates for awhile, the Predator figure was supposed to be out in June, now they're going for November. But anywho, they finally put the Eric Draven up for pre-order and it'll be 100 dollars, comes with 4 heads, the trench coat, the crow, the guitar, Shelly's tombstone, and quite a few other things. I'm only going to post one pic of the basics for right now since sometimes when it comes to the extra accessories, they do start adding more or removing some before its released. I think 100 is fair, same price as the Pennywise, same amount of head sculpts, and well, as cool as Pennywise is, Eric is cooler. Hrmm, looks like Mezco blocks images from being shared on other sites, lets see if this one from another site works...  And if anyone is interested in this figure, pre-order it now on Mezco's site or bigbadtoystore.com because this figure will "sell out" even before its released, and they won't do a second edition. I can almost guarantee this figure will go for 200-400 dollars once the pre-orders sell out, which will probably be in 2-3 weeks. They're still stuck on the Predator figure, keep extending the release date, not sure if they ran into an issue or if they're not happy with the fact so many pre-orders haven't sold out yet. They seem to prefer when the pre-orders sell out before the figure is actually out, that way they don't mass produce more than they need to. |
