You're right, a whole cake is a little bit greedy. I'll share the cake with you....but it has to be a real made from scratch red velvet cake with the real made from scratch icing......and 3 Dr. Peppers. Figured as long as I'm sharing, you'd better bring one for yourself!!! I have mentioned on the other board (shhhh don't say name, she doesn't know about side board) that I am quite the cook and/or baker. I can make that there red velvet piece of confection for you...
No problem...
3 Dr Peppers? By "negotiations" I thought I would be getting more?
Oh well I am used to getting the short end of the stick...
See what I did there?
You are welcome...

See what I did there? I didn't realize you missed the pointy stick......I'll see what I can do. You're Welcome!!!! If I am having a contest in the kitchen we have to make it full course meal...
Fried anything with biscuits (homemade not box or kind that come out of can that pops), REAL mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, soaked overnight pintos and homemade slaw...
Or we can go with my chicken and dumplings with most of above sides...
Oh and I can BBQ anything you want (squirrel is bottom of list, but I will eat in a pinch)...
Then we will finish off with your red velvet cake...
Unless you have a hankering for my banana pudding (MawMaw's recipe) or chocolate pie with meringue topping (Momma's recipe)...
I know my way around a kitchen... If I had money and was pretty I would be a catch... c029

I can fry and bake with the best of 'em.......biscuits are another story. I can't make biscuits to save my life. Somehow, mine always turn out too crumbly. The taste is fine, but they fall apart if you touch them. You said banana pudding. I think I'm in love......

(Here's a 'cheat')
- buy the Red Lobster cheese biscuit mix, just add water plus some grated cheddar cheese. After they bake, you coat the top with melted butter mixed with the seasoning mix that comes with it
We had these last night with our supper - chicken breast, green pepper and onions plus pickled beets and some roasted butternut squash soup

I still haven't figured out how to do that spoiler thing - hope you're having a good Hump Day Wednesday!
Hey Sunny - I know this is the Recipe thread but do you have a good shortcut for making curly hair look good? Yesterday I took the time to blow dry it for about 10 - 15 minutes and it looked much better than usual - Usually I just let it dry by itself after running my fingers through it -
(I put mousse or some sort of styling product in it)
- after it dries I brush it.

I use Sebastian Potion 9 when I wear my hair curly. Actually, I use it when I wear it straight, too. Honestly, that stuff is good for every hair type on the planet. Towel dry your hair, and apply a small amount to your hair and comb it through to distribute it evenly. Squeeze up the curls and let it go. The product is soft, with just enough hod factor without being sticky.

Girls with curly hair: I'm envious!! Mine is stick to my head straight. Here is how I made steak sliders last night - I found some brioche rolls at Aldi - they were perfect! So use small brioche rolls if you can find them. I used flat iron steak - a pretty big one, but I have a teen son and large Ogre. I rinse the steak, put in between paper towels and let it come to room temperature and get very dry - about an hour. Saute some mushrooms and onions: I like to use a little butter, a little olive oil and a little canola oil - just a bit - maybe 2 Tablespoons when it's all together. Cook those for 10 mins or so on med heat with a little salt. Then take them out, and set aside. Add a little more canola oil and get the pan a little hotter- 7.5 on my stove. Rub the steak with garlic powder and a little salt - both sides and slice thin, then chop into smaller pieces - since it's a sandwich. Sear steak very quickly in your pan that still has the glaze from the mushrooms and onions - it only takes a minute or two - put the mushrooms and onions back in, toss it, add some shredded monterey jack cheese, cover pan so cheese will melt. Slice the rolls in half, wrap them in a wet towel and steam in microwave for 15/18 seconds. Spread mayo on inside. Add a good portion of steak. And there ya go. The directions are wordy - this really only took 15 mins tops. For the Mexican street corn - two bags of frozen corn, cooked in water in the microwave - 8 mins or so. Mix 4 Tablespoons of mayo, 4 tablespoons of melted butter (my Mexican friend uses margarine and it really does taste better, but I always forget to buy margarine), and 4 tablespoons of queso fresca (use your fork to get that really fine). Drain water from corn and add the corn to your mayo, butter and cheese. Mix well. Squeeze lime juice over the corn mixture, toss again. Add salt to taste. Top with more fine queso fresco and then sprinkle a little chilli powder on top.

I don't have any queso fresca - I might attempt this using some old cheddar we have - for some reason it seems sort of wet and Andy thinks it was previously frozen. It crumbles easily when you attempt to slice it.
Thanks for the recipe! (it sounds fattening but delicious)

neesy Loads of fat in that corn but no sugar!! If I could cut out dairy I think I'd be thin. But I love it so. You would be appalled by tonight's dinner. I did use turkey kielbasa, but it had heavy cream and monterey jack again. I keep misspelling "monterey" but I'm too lazy to google it. Good luck with the crumbly cheddar on the corn. Queso Fresco (I misspelled that too - no "a", it's an "o") is very mild. Mayo on corn sounds weird, but it's so good. Authentic street corn is on the cob and grilled -then slathered with the mayo and margarine and cheese.

Authentic street corn is on the cob and grilled -then slathered with the mayo and margarine and cheese. That was good corn - I had to look up points for the mayo and cheese etc. but it was worth the splurge. Today there will be no corn - just roast turkey with all the fixins
I'm trying spaghetti squash - might put some olive oil on it or maybe just a smidge of butter with some salt and freshly ground pepper.
In about half an hour we'll all have our dinner laid out and ready to tuck in - this will be an unusual Thanksgiving for me as I plan to eat mainly the zero points food (spaghetti squash, carrots and turkey breast meat) but in moderation of course. Just looked up a recipe for stuffing and it sounds somewhat similar to mine, so I'll charge myself 4 points for that.
Ate my sliver of pumpkin pie yesterday so will probably just have a McIntosh apple for dessert - maybe I'll cook it in the microwave with a wee bit of butter and cinnamon/sugar.
No good recipes today but if I find any, I'll be sure to post them!

You are good! neesy ! Turkey sounds delicious and Happy Thanksgiving to you!! I do better at working it out at the gym rather than dieting. Hearty. That's what you could call me. I'm hearty, thick and strong. Jiggly. Soft. I love dairy! and pork fat and chocolate. Plus there's always shapewear!
