I Got The Idea for This Thread from Reading the Stephen King Story IT! Well You Probably Know in That Storry How Derry Had Infamous Past an Such with The Bradley Gang Shoot Out an The Black Spot Arson an Many Other Events too that Mainly Only The Elderly Residents Remember. So I was Wondering do You Guys Know of Anyting I interesting or Wild That Happen in Your Town that Maybe Not Many People Have Heard of?

Ned Kelly was to some a hero and others an outlaw. I grew up in the same town as he, when we were both kids. Neds family shifted to the town after being persecuted in other towns by the law, his father Red Kelly is buried in the local cemetery. While living in the town, he saved a local from quicksand, in a creek that runs through the town. The community presented him with a sash for saving his life, which he reportedly wore when he was hung.
When Peter Carey launched his book, True History of the Kelly Gang, a person I went to school with, went to the launching with 40 family members and Peter Carey said that those 40 members of his family, would not be here if Ned Kelly had not saved his grandfathers life. His spirt will forever remain and such is life.

Part of the reason that he and the gang were seen by some as hero`s, was that it took the law a long time to catch them.
