Every episode I watch irritates me more than the last. There is zero tension here. They are not doing this book justice. Again: a waste of a terrific cast.
When this series is over, I wish the showrunners would release an entirely new edit told in chronological fashion.

It's written and directed by Josh Boone, the guy who did New Mutants, of course it was going to suck.

Okay I have to admit, tonight’s episode was pretty good. I have a gripe, and it’s a moderate gripe, but aside from that it was probably the best episode so far. M-O-O-N that spells spoilers.
-Fran. I know I have griped at length about Fran being not my favorite character (and I’ll be first to say she was hardly the most dynamic character to begin with) but tonight she it all came round. I waited that whole seen in Harold’s basement for her kind words to be a lure, just a way so she could kick Harold in the groin or something. But no, she was really trying to help him. She wasn’t trying to trick him; she really did want to save him. In the moment, the actress became Fran.
-Mother Abigail and Flagg. Once again, they stole the show. Their confrontation was incredible, the actors worked great together and never gave and inch. Powerful stuff. And Flagg’s moment with Bobby Terry…for once it kinda made sense that Flagg went so ruthless. Was it Bobby Terry’s first day on the job? Not only did he kill the Judge but then he flipped off Flagg after Flagg actually giving him a way to not be punished. Did he think he was just walking out?
-“Hey Bobby Terry, YOU SCREWED IT UP!” and “When I look all I see is the moon.” Yeah, I like Sheridan’s portrayal as Flagg better, but Skarsgård is growing on me.
-Tom Cullen. Now that was thinking with your head. Just when you thought they’d made Tom beyond useless; he goes and shows he has more survival skills than anyone else in the show. How do you get out of Vegas? Hide with the dead bodies. M-O-O-N spells it worked.
-Joe. They got him right. Dead right. Him trying to stop Nadine was heartbreaking.
-Soundtrack. Once again, I love the music on this show.
Okay, now on to the gripe….
-Trashcan man. Where do I start? I thought I was mad about what they did to Lloyd…what the hell did you do to poor old Trashcan Man? Donald Merwin Elbert is a pyromaniac and mildly disturbed. There are times you can actually feel bad for him in the novel and even in the original miniseries. He is someone who dealt with pains, abuse and trauma and wasn’t able to over come it. He was Basically Gollum.
Not now thought. Good Lord, not now. Now he is an assless chap wearing wackaloon. Someone who has to practically be carried from room to room cause he was humping stuff and knocking things over. He was excited by the sec and violence in the pit, forcing Lloyd to have him dragged along to see Flagg. Now, as we all know, nothing would have distracted Trashcan Man from seeing Flagg, and yet they went there. And they even managed to botch the iconic line “My life for you!” This version isn’t Gollum, its Gurgi from the Black Cauldron.

I like this, JB. 😊 Hmmm....I'm with you, it's a shame they deviated from how King wrote Trashy so much. But I gotta see this new version/interpretation of him! Lol. 😆😄

I'm not against new. The new Lloyd is kinda growing on me. But i don't know about what they did to trash.

M-O-O-N that spells spoilers.
- This was another of those episodes that were remarkably faithful at one moment and then bizarrely not in others. All in all, it was a good episode.
- How the heck did Harold get a better death scene than Mother Abigail. Now, don’t get me wrong, Harold’s death scene was one of those remarkably accurate by the book moments. Mother Abigail’s was not. It felt rushed. There was no argument with Fran, no heavy phrasing, or Biblical overtones. Whoopi dropped some exposition and then was off to make Sister Act 3 or something.
- Once again, I gush over the music. It was perfect.
- Sorry new miniseries, the old miniseries did the occasional dead body moment much better.
- I get that they want a sexier, more subtle Flagg. I’ll even give props to the Dark Tower moments with him dressed in a black cloak and tonight’s use of doors to travel. But it just doesn’t work in context. Case in point, Nadine. I always felt that Harold and Nadine got what they had coming to them and I was surprised when it actually seemed like the new series was going soft on Nadine. I was wrong. They are going much worse. Maybe a bit too much.
- Joe. Okay with no Lucy where does he go now? Larry and Nadine are both gone, so where does that leave him?
- Trashcan Man. No, just no.
- The four walking and talking about the nature of God and why they were going was good. We finally got some good Glen moments. Too bad its about over.
- I didn’t expect Lloyd to pull up in a limo. But with this Lloyd it fits.

Good thoughts, darkharbinger I think ep 7 was the best so far. It felt like the book and Harold's scene was awesome. Interesting change to Nadine, instead of flipping out she is spellbound or something. Loved the reveal at the end of what she really looks like now. The soundtrack is killer, and I would love to see it released. Not many soundtracks like this anymore, with all different kinds of stuff. Really excellent.

After the penultimate episode, I'm surprised by just how much I don't care about this series. Underwhelming is the kindest thing I can say. At this point, I'm just hanging on to see what extra material King wrote for the finale.
To be fair, I will watch it again in its entirety before writing a proper review. Right now though, I'm looking forward to the next SK adaptation, because this one screwed up worse than Bobby Terry. Don't let me down with Salem's Lot, James Wan!

M-O-O-N that spells spoilers
-Kojack vs the wolf was a nice throwback. -The mock trial was weird but kind interesting. Not sure why the had it but Glen went out like a boss. -I liked how it actually looked like the Hand of God coming out the the sky, but why no Mother Abigail voice over? Also, Flagg's dance was hilarious. -Lloyd's crisis was a weird but nice touch -How big of a nuke was that that they could see vapor trails in Boulder? That being said, Joe's line was creepy.

I know that last post was shorter than usually, but the episode was pretty straight forward.

No spoilers here, but even the coda written by SK in the final episode doesn't redeem this truly underwhelming series. The show-runners have managed to hew faithfully to the text, yet stripped it of all the tension, heart, soul & drama. This will be quickly forgotten, and deservedly so. Right now, I can't even muster the enthusiasm to give this a second watch in order to write a thorough review.

This is the last rant about the Stand, hope you enjoyed reading them. M-O-O-N that spells spoilers.
-You could tell SK was writing this one. Little hints, little fixes here and there, it was a nice touch. In the end the new stuff was superfluous (my own little pun there) but it was pure SK.
- I saw that turtle nice touch.
- Very subtle with the well cover looking like Flagg’s button.
- Nice fake out making it look like they entered the Children of the Corn. That was a worthy swerve, my hat is off to you.
-Nice bit with Franny’s dream. It actually felt like a dream from the book, unlike the previous.
- The Music was, as always, wonderful.
Now for my rants.
- Having Flagg in the dream kinda cut the impact of having the end scene where he wakes up on the beach. That being said, it was worth watching.
- This miniseries had 4-5 hours more than the original miniseries and yet the ending felt so rushed that it could have been a 2 hour movie in the theater.
- You cut out the best line in the book, you were right there and didn’t do it. “Can people change?”
- Here is the biggest rant I have. I know this is a new spin and they did things there own way, but they cut out Tom saving Stu. To me that was one of the best parts of the story, Tom manages to prove that he has purpose and keeps Stu from dying (with some ghost help from Nick) and they just skipped over that?

I'm also looking forward to Wan's Salem's Lot, I'm pretty sure it will be a Chapter thing like the recent It films. There is way too much book to condense into a single film.

I am going to order cbs all access soon so I can watch it, I also want to know that I am new to the stand and am going to have a fresh perspective. I have not seen the other tv show in the 1990’s and have not read the book, as it huge... lol. I think scarsgard will be amazing
As you're not familiar with the source material, I am most interested in hearing your thoughts after you've watched it. Looking forward to your review.

Ok so i finally got amazon prime in canda and am watching it know. I am very confused. I have not read the book or seen the 1995? Version, so i am coming to this 100% new, and i am really getting confused.. i just finished the epeisode were they came to new vegas. And i am left wondering wtf...and i am confused. Why does it seem like every epeside is like a character study? Or going back. Why did they not start from the begiining? What is the population of bolder colerado, and how long did it take so many people to get their, why are they hamging out on mother abigals lawn? I have questions. I am not ahurei will contiunie with it atthis t8me. I am going to perhaps watch the first 1995? Getto know the story then watch this new 9ne. I dont think ots awful or its trash. I think it has its merrits and 8nlike most of the casting. I love scarsgard as flagg. Bit he does remind me a bit to much of his vampire character eric in true blood. So i see eric in flagg. And are they all living in a nebourbood area? I. Dead peoples homes?

I just want to forget that entire mini-series happened. It was awful. Hopefully I've still got all my faculties in another decade or two when they remake it again and maybe they'll do a better job. Now go read the book! I guarantee you'll have a blast. Make sure you get the uncut edition, which runs in excess of 1,000 pages.

There were parts in the original version of the Stand book i liked better, like Trashcan man's story. Also, its the version of the Stand that ties in to DT4
