I’m not a big horse racing fan, but I live with two now (my parents), so of course watching the races on TV is a big part of the spring schedule. I can’t believe the lousy weather that the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont have managed to have this year! The fog was so thick on the track this evening you could barely see the horses running! Justify looks like he might be a Triple Crown winner, though. That’s always exciting!

Hi there APP - I was sick for a couple of days (bronchitis and swollen glands in my throat) and I did not go on the SKMB Wednesday or Thursday. Today I tried to log in but I see the Board is down for maintenance.
Sorry (this has nothing to do with horse racing!).
Just thought I'd touch base to see how you're doing.
I was in bed a lot the last two days and even though I am on antibiotics I think it will take a few more before I feel better.
I wish they would hurry up and finish the maintenance! - Anyway, if the Board does not come back, I'll take this chance to say have a great weekend - hopefully it will be back up and running by Monday!

Oh neesy, I’m so sorry; I didn’t see your reply until just now. Well, I’m glad you are feeling better now, and hopefully you are having a nice time this weekend. We finally have some sun after quite a few days of chilly temps and rain. Anyway, we have a Triple Crown winner! Only the 13th horse to ever do so. Woohoo! Go Justify! His jockey Mike Smith is fun to watch; he seems like a really nice, humble person, and I’m so glad he won. |

Did I tell you Andy used to work at the Assiniboia Downs? For a while he was in the main dining area but then they opened up a little restaurant called the Back Stretch where all the jockeys, horse owners and support staff for the horses would eat.
That was a few years ago, before he starting working way up in Northern Canada - glad to hear you have a Triple Crown winner!

Horses are beautiful & majestic, but by clinical standards, psychotic.  So many variables. Anything can happen on the track. I've seen Mike Smith a little, he seems like a great guy. You gotta love a guy with Jeff Ruby's Steakhouses on his pants.  |

As a kid I was a DC comics fan. And I noticed in the Justice League comics of the 80's/90's , Batman almost always referred to Wonder Woman as "princess"  . I found that sort of touching. Interestingly enough, it carried on into the "Brave and the Bold" cartoon series.
