10.) The Thing (2011)
Kate Lloyd, a palaeontologist, joins a team of scientists in Antarctica where they discover an alien buried in ice. However, things take a turn when the alien escapes and goes on a killing spree. The Thing remake isn't actually all that bad. I wish I could say the same for the most recent Halloween movie.

17.) Panic Room (2002). Re-watch. A lot of improbabilities, but it had some suspenseful parts. And if I get to see Jared Leto, that's always a bonus.

Saw, the first in the series, is actually as much a thriller, if not more, than a horror. And here in the beginning it actually works. Danny glover was in it which i had forgotten. GAME OVER!!!

18). The Binding (2020). Italian movie, English dubbing and subtitles. But in any language and in every culture, it's hard to kill a witch. Not great, but had some really creepy parts.

19.) Before I Go to Sleep (2014). Re-watch. Unique story, unexpected plot twist, decent cast. Oh the tangled webs we weave...But never underestimate a mother's love.

4. Event Horizon 1997 I don't think I've ever watched this before. I wanted to like it but it just was not my thing.
5. Candy Corn 2019 Group of bullies are planning their annual hazing on local outcast and take it too far.
This one was kind of fun. It seemed to be an homage of sorts to the original Halloween movie. The font of the intro is the same as in Halloween, a lot of the shots were similar, the empty streets with leaves blowing, that kind of thing. The mask the killer wears, I swear was a Michael Myers mask that they tweaked a little bit...made it darker in color and a few other changes, but it still looked like Michael to me. And, PJ Soles is in it, (she is the blond friend in Halloween) she plays the police department receptionist. Tony Todd is also in it and Courtney Gaines plays the Sheriff.
It never is truly scary, like Halloween is. But it was kind of a fun watch.
6. Asylum 2008 college students learn their dorm once housed disturbed teens
Not a terrible movie. Pretty formulaic, kids go to school, find out their "new" dorm used to be an asylum, and the ghost of the dr uses each kid's deep, dark secrets against them, one by one. Again, not terribly scary but it was entertaining enough.

7. Within 2016 A man moves into a new house with his new wife and teen daughter, they quickly find things are not right. Michael Vartan, Erin Moriarty, Nadine Velazquez and JoBeth Williams has a small role as a neighbor.
Ok. This one creeped me right out. I started watching it last night, but was tired, I turned it off only about 20 min in. But, had I kept watching last night, I would have ended up turning it off anyway because it is night shift time so was here alone with the kids and it scared me watching it this morning, in the sunshine!
If anyone else has seen this, I am still not 100% sure what the heck...I read some reviews after I finished it and first of all, hardly anyone liked it. (What? I was seriously freaked out!) And two, it only made a little over $10000 at the box office. Anyway, usually, spoilers are difficult to avoid, but in this case, when I am searching for answers, there are no spoilers! So would love to know what others think, if you have seen it.

6. The Kiss of the Vampire (FTV) A newlywed couple stranded in turn of the century Bavaria find hospitality at a lavish but worn-down estate, not realizing the new bride is being groomed for initiation into their vampire cult. This 1963 Hammer Films effort is their first vampire film without Christopher Lee or Peter Cushing, but it still manages to kindle some of the old vampire magic. The movie is bursting with color, especially reds, and there's a great opening sequence involving a staking at a funeral service. Hammer films always have great music and atmosphere, and this film is no exception, and although the plot is thin and familiar, the film never really drags. The acting is excellent and the women are lovely, although the head vampire is pretty lightweight and had me wishing they could have gotten Christopher Lee. Comparisons to previous superior Hammer vampire films kept this from being a 4-star movie, as well as a ridiculous and unintentionally hilarious finale featuring a mass attack of flimsy paper and string bats that looked like they were purchased off the shelf at Woolworth. My guess is that funding had run out by the time they filmed the climactic scene, or it was tacked on by a studio head who should have known better. Ruinous ending aside, I enjoyed the movie. 3 out of 5 stars. Bob's October 2020 Horror Movie List*FTV denotes first-time viewings 1. Viy (1967) 4/5 (FTV) 2. Night Visitor 3/5 (FTV) 3. Tigers Are Not Afraid 5/5 (FTV) 4. I Trapped the Devil 4/5 (FTV) 5. Vivarium 3/5 (FTV) 6. The Kiss of the Vampire 3/5 (FTV)

Would You Rather (2012) 2,5/5 (FTV) 8 people in desperate need of something agree to play a game where the winner gets his wish. What they dont know is the cost and the sadistic nature of the playleader. Morale, humanity are things you cant afford if you want to win. Brittany Snow in the lead. OK, but not more.

Feardotcom ( 2018) 2/5 partly creepy enough but too much of it didn't make much sense. A mixture of hunt for serialkiller and ghost from the internet enter reality to seek revenge. the creators obviously thought that explaining anything would be a bad idea and not to waste time on. The result is that its much you dont understand even if it creepy in parts.

20.) What Keeps You Alive (2018). Unoriginal motive, but many psychotic twists and turns. Won't go as far as to say I liked it, but it had me guessing and anxious. I don't care if you've been married for fifty years. Be wary of an anniversary trip to a cabin in the woods.

21.) Sleeping with the Enemy (1991). Re-watch. Hard to believe this movie is almost 30 years old. It's listed as a horror/thriller on Huluween. I'm a bit desensitized because I've seen it so many times. But it still makes me anxious. And I know the first few times I watched it that it was creepy and terrifying.

@notaro I'm pretty sure you contributed to the October Movie Marathon in the past few years. Have you watched any good horror/thriller flicks this month?
