8.) Natural Born Killers (1994). Re-watch. A Tarantino love story. Gallons of blood, snakes, and shrooms. Oh my. And don't forget the "idiosyncratic knickknacks." So messed up. Pretty cool flick. Great parts for Woody and Juliette. Tarantino? Don't you mean Oliver Stone? Or are you comparing Stones couple in this piece work to Quentin's "Hunny Bunny and Lover"? 😊
Hey Morgan! How y'all been? Good I hope. Tarantino wrote the story, Stone wrote the screenplay and directed.

I am not a Tarantino expert, a movie expert (or an expert of anything for that matter). I thought Tarantino was at least partially responsible for the story and Stone was the director. You're quite right, Morgan!! Tarantino wrote the script or screenplay or whatever its called that the movie is based on. Stone revised it but the basic idea is Tarantinos. Director: Oliver Stone Story: Quentin Tarantino Screenplay: Richard Rutowski Oliver Stone David Veloz

4. Gorgo (1961)
A decent UK monster movie. This borrows some from King Kong and Godzilla. A ship is stranded on an island off the Irish coast and discover a monster in the sea. They capture it and take it to London. Little did they know that this was the infant and momma is pissed. 6/10
I found this on a streaming channel called The Film Detective that shows free movies. There are quite a few old horror flicks on this channel if you can find it.

Creepy and scary in parts but it isn't exactly The Exorcist.

9.) Slithers
A small town is taken over by an alien plague, turning residents into zombies and all forms of mutant monsters.
This film sports an extremely bloody and comedic take on the alien invasion movies of the 50s. It has an all star cast that includes Nathan Fillion, Elizabeth Banks, and Michael Rooker.

11.) The Stepford Wives (2004). Re-watch. The best thing I can say is that it attempted to turn the original on its head. (That movie infuriates me. Every time I watch the dvd, I want to give it away afterwards.) With a different screenplay, this one could've been epic with such a stellar cast.

2. Tigers Are Not Afraid (FTV)A Mexican girl seeks revenge on the drug lord who abducted her mother, assisted by a rag-tag group of street urchins, three wishes, and ghosts.
Tigers Are Not Afraid explores potentially bleak subject matter (kids orphaned by drug crime) but it with a certain amount of so-called magical realism, but avoids becoming maudlin. Indeed, the fantastical elements go hand in hand with the harsh realism, to put us into the mind of a child and make experiencing the horrors of the real world even more intense. Think Beasts of the Southern Wild but with talking dead people and dark fairies. Many have made comparisons between this film and the early works of Guillermo del Toro (especially The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth), and they're not wrong, but I also noticed favorable similarities with the non-supernatural Brazilian street crime film City of God, with the depictions of youth street life that feel authentic and human.
You'll want to see this one if you get a chance; this is one of those movies that elevates not just the horror genre, but also shows us how good cinema can be.
5 out of 5 stars.Bob's October 2020 Horror Movie List*FTV denotes first-time viewings 1. Viy (1967) 4/5 (FTV) 2. Night Visitor 3/5 (FTV) 3. Tigers Are Not Afraid 5/5 (FTV)

12.) Raising Cain (1992). Re-watch. Haven't seen this in many years and didn't remember it being this ridiculous. John Lithgow and Lolita Davidovich are lovely actors. I wonder how they feel about this movie.

12-2. (I'm extremely superstitious of the bad number.) Wildling (2018). Not exactly a werewolf movie, but close. Wasn't the best, but it had decent moments. Very sad. (Anyone else ever think about how ironic it is that Liv Tyler is so soft spoken when her father is singing/screaming at the top of his lungs all the time? Not sure if his speaking voice is subdued.)

I saw this theatrically back in 1992, I remember laughing out loud at certain scenes that were supposed to be serious. But I do remember it being a fun little thriller.

It's interesting how time can change our perceptions. A lot has to do with technological advances (at least for me). Movies I remember fondly don't always measure up anymore.
Where do you find the majority of your October choices fushingfeef? Amazon Prime? You always review interesting/obscure movies. (Not that I would have the guts to watch most of them! Lol)

Elisabeth Shue, Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd earned some money i guess but this is basically a mix of jaws and blue lagoon. A lot of girls swimming naked underwater (sigh) but when the piranha comes it gets very bloody. Sadly it does not help very much.

14.) 1BR (2019). Cult-y, a tish torture-y. Not the greatest, but disturbing nonetheless. How many millions of people feel lost and could be/are targets for emotional or physical predators? Thank gawd this is a work of fiction. But it made me think of all the real-life scenarios.

Wrong Turn (2007) 3/5 (FTV) Taking a shortcut in West Virginia is a very bad idea. Then you risk running into this deformed pack of cannibals. Far from original but told in a decent way. But sometime you say as the main character say in the end; "Just die, you motherf¤¤¤ers". They are hard to kill!

I watched Torture Garden. And then I took a break from the old Amicus movies and watched Donnie Darko with one of my sons.
