People, thanks to some very nice humans, we have this "other" place to type out about whatever sports we want and so far we have soccer, ice hockey (is there another type of hockey) and horse racing for goodness sake... Not that there is anything wrong with that...  Help me out here... |

I went to a Toronto Blue Jays ball game once when I was still in the military - we were undergoing training in Borden, Ontario and they took our whole class of Supply Techs there for a day out!

Been to 3 Braves games and one Orioles game (back when I was 12 )...
Played against two pitchers who made it to majors with some success. Homered off one (full disclosure we were both 12 at the time) and went 2 for 3 off other last time I faced him (little later we were both 18)...
Been a Red Sox fan since Carlton Fisk waved homer fair in extra innings of World Series...
They are doing very well again this year and are odds on favorite to win it all.
However it is baseball, the greatest sport ever invented, and you never know until, well, November now.

Red Sox are trying to run away with American League East currently up 7.5 games on the hated Yankees. (Ahem Mr King if you ever peek in here my offer to accompany you to playoff game still stands  )
Astros are easing out in American League West with a 5 game lead.
Indians up 9.5 in Central.
Wild Card leaders are Yanks, A's and Mariners.
In the National League East Phillies lead Braves by half game with Nationals showing signs of making a run.
In the West the Dodgers. Diamondbacks and Rockies are separated by just 2 games.
Finally the Central is led by the Cubs who are up 1.5 games on the Brewers.

Hey - guess what? We watched part of a ball game between the Winnipeg Goldeyes vs. the Sioux City Explorers, while eating East Indian food at The Clay Oven.
I'd post a pic from my phone but even though it's a good camera it's hard to resize.

I was sad to see Steve Pearce traded. I really liked him. Now, he has a chance to be a part of winning the World Series.

World Series time folks.
As mentioned in post above the Red Sox have kind of stormed through the American league playoffs. On the other side the Los Angeles Dodgers survived a 7th game against Brewers to win National league.
Should be interesting.
Red Sox appear to have a more balanced offense while Dodgers rely on long ball a lot. Dodgers pitching has been extended a bit while Sox hurlers should be well rested.
I am picking Sox in 6 games.
Also am hoping someone "accidentally" plunks Puig during a few at bats.

Can you disown a niece?  The first time she was offered them, she said to me “what was I going to do with baseball tickets”. So she turned them down. I said she was going to call her favourite aunt and invite her to a baseball game. So...she promised....next time. Then, when next time came again....she brought her boyfriend instead.
