We're definitely going to do the very best we can Commander! 🙂 I still have great hopes that other SKMB Members are going to make it over here. 😊 ......I really don't think I'm all that great Frank, I'd be alittle scared of messin' other people's work up. But thankyou so much for mentioning me here, mein freund! You compliment me highly.

When it comes to the Halloween Story (and i love the Halloween Story) we have to find someone that is willing to hold the reins on the project so to speak. I am perfectly willing to write a chapter but thats about it. That takes some time to hold this unholy bunch of writers in order.....

....First off, We have doyoulove19, who is a most gifted and wonderful organizer. And we do have Sundrop, and the trippingly fantastic hollygolightly....who have been great contributors to past All hallows e'en stories....amongst others..... That's a great start right there! 😊
Kurbie....I think 'Doya' could hold those reins in check. That's her mission, should she choose to accept it. 😉
....and maybe the Muskrat and the Wolfbear will come 'round and add to the collective soul of the great project! Hopefully! As well as the awesomesomely talented doccreed. 😊 Im thinkin' were in need of input and thoughts from everyone mentioned here.
If I've forgotten to mention anyone, I cry pardon. We got time.Itll all get worked on.
Really wanting to see other SKMB Members here too. .....but we all can get it done with a "Skeleton Crew" working a few "Nightshifts"...if we have to. 😊 😉
((((((All in need or not))))))

I am perfectly willing to write a chapter but thats about it. That takes some time to hold this unholy bunch of writers in order..... Whoever we decide this to be will have to do several things. - Decide upon a tense, stories don't just suddenly switch to present tense halfway through a story. (My opinion: past tense) - Decide upon a tone, comedic? Horror? (Or it could be a funny story were the tone is everywhere.) - Make sure that all the chapters make sense. - Ensure that there is a beginning, middle and end. - Make sure that each chapter moves the story. - Grammar? - Make sure that the writers are orderly with submissions.
Essentially, they are an editor.
I wouldn't mind throwing my hat in the ring, but if Doyou wants to do it then that's okay, I'll just be a writer.

I wouldn't mind throwing my hat in the ring, but if Doyou wants to do it then that's okay, I'll just be a writer. .....this is why we need actual input from people who have participated in the project more than once. I know I for one would want to draw from their experience, when it comes to ground rules and procedure. We owe to the SKMB to our best job, and follow in that tradition. Especially when it comes to tense, tone, horror only or horror laced with humor/comedy..... All those things can be done and done well in the individual chapters. I think the most important things are acceptable content and making sure no one goes stupid Maverick and writes something like....."and now for something completely different"! 😊
Hey Taco Man! Do you think you might want to assist in developing and ramrodding this particular project?......maybe act as editor, wireman. Please, sir? 🙂

The wireman and doyoulove19 are the two that comes to mind first for me. Maybe Lady spideyman will have some pearls of her wisdom to share. 😊 Maybe the Taco Man and Doya could work together and make the tasks easier. Maybe Sundrop and Holly will come and tell us about their experiences doing the previous projects.
I know too little about it, and am too much of a lone wolf to be of any great help I think. But certainly would love to see this thing take off like a rocket and reach for the moon! 😊 🐺 Wuff! 😉
......whut do you think Commander osnafrank? 😊

These are some of the elements / rules of past SKMB stories.
For non SKMB here are some links to past stories----

One person needs to come forward and be the leader/coordinator- essentially keep the writers on track. Edit were necessary, but never without consent first from that writer. The Halloween Story is not a graded college course, it is meant for fun and for all of every writing skill. Being leader becomes a full time position.
First, osnafrank needs to be able to set up a forum that ONLY the writers can access. THat keeps the story and discussions secret from the public side of the board. **** the story is usually made public one chapter per day, the final on Halloween.
If Frank is able to do that- on the public side members need to sign up as writers. You'll need a cut off date for sign up. A good number is around 12 writers- you can go more or less.
Ground rules will need to be set by the leader. Such as word count ( in the past it ran around 750 per writer, with the first and last having extra.
In the closed forum a topic could be discussed. ( usually 3 elements were included)
Remember it is a free form story, each writer takes up from where the last one stopped. Their own take, but within reason.
PG-- . no political, racial, religious or other agendas and language PG ( remember the story ,once on the public side, can be read by any guest. Do not give the Playground a bad name. For legal matters- no SK themes.
Time limit to submit-- you can discuss that. Rule as always been- be on time. If something happen, as life happens, contact the leader and you can be switched. Keep your Messaging feature checked as the leader/coordinator usually sends a reminder when you are due up next.
Just some thought. Have fun!

Additional thoughts--
In the closed forum, there should be two subtopics: discussions, and the story parts.
Once the list and order of writing is established, the first writer will submit his/her piece via a Message to the leader/coordinator. It will then be ck;d for any issues. ( note that this is not a professional story and suggestions for grammar, punctuation etc can be suggested) The writer , who has the right to question any suggestions, when satisfied will post that piece to the STORY thread within the closed forum.
The next writer is then responsible for writing their piece. **** the leader/coordinator will determine turn over time based on the number of writers. ( it has usually been 2-3 days)
The entire story must be completed before any part is posted to the PUBLIC side.
Remember this is a fun time project.
