It's been a loooong time since I've really paid attention to Rocky III, also. When I happen to see the movies on tv, I'll watch a few scenes here and there, but I haven't watched some of them in entirety in ages. My son had to remind me that it says "Introducing Mr. T" in the credits of the third movie. I thought he was already on the A-Team, but apparently not!

Oftentimes, when someone asks what my prediction is (regardless of what I'm supposed to be predicting), I'll sneer with a clenched jaw and steely eyes and say in a menacing, yet calculated voice, "My prediction? Paiiiiiiin."

Mickey may very well be my favorite character of the whole series ....ever. Even counting the Creed movies.
Little Marie is a real brat, too, but Mickey's funnier.

Saturday morning, I got a text from my 2nd son--"Rocky 3 & 4 & pizza tonight!" So that's what happened....two of my sons showed up with pizza and we watched both of those movies. I think I said earlier that I thought Rocky V was the dumbest of the bunch, but I may have to amend that statement now that I've watched IV again.  I totally forgot about Paulie's robot!!!!  I've been going around for days, using a robot voice to say "Happy Birthday ,Paulie." |

My kids are insane. Since they were little, they do this thing after we watch a particularly stupid movie, where they'll talk to me as if something ridiculous from the storyline happened in our real life. Nowadays, this usually happens in our group texts....so naturally, after watching Rocky IV, one son texted : "Mom-Remember when I was 8 and you left me home with a robot on Christmas so you could go to Russia for a boxing match?" and this morning ,my other son added: "Remember when the robot was dressed like Santa and brought me beer?" |

I never thought I'd stoop to this, but I just bought Rocky V because no one in the family has that one on dvd .
And God knows we can't skip the street fight between Rocky and Tommy Gunn.
My kids are already starting with the dumb quotes..."My ring's outside."

I never thought I'd stoop to this, but I just bought Rocky V because no one in the family has that one on dvd . And God knows we can't skip the street fight between Rocky and Tommy Gunn. My kids are already starting with the dumb quotes..."My ring's outside."
So, the whole premise of the movie was Rocky not being able to fight anymore because of the beating Drago gave him. Oh, the plot point was not only drilled home, it was cemented and chiseled in stone. One punch and Rocky becomes an invalid. Oh no, Rocky!!
So then he gets in a fight with a thick necked guy in the street. No gloves. And Rocky is still standing at the end?
Let alone made more movies?
Speaking of which, have you seen Creed 2, the TRUE sequel to Rocky IV?

(rofl) This is part of what makes them so fun to watch again with my family--we all know the stupidity that's in store, so what the hell...we just embrace it. The Creed movies are actually a lot better than I expected! Part 2 almost doesn't even feel like a Rocky movie. |

So two of my kids came over again and we watched Rocky V and Rocky Balboa here on Saturday night. All I can say is these boys of mine have very loyal girlfriends to put up with this ridiculous obsession my family has . Neither of the girls had ever seen any Rocky movies before.
