All this talk about good movies and bad movies and dumb movies and we haven't talked about Rocky yet?!
How do you feel about these? Love 'em? Hate 'em? Love to hate 'em?
Or do you just like to go around singing Gonna Fly Now like me?

The Rocky discussion is STILL going on between me and my son, if you can believe that. Yesterday he says to me,"Mom, why didn't you name us after Rocky characters? I could have been Spider Rico."

In a way, it's weirdly appropriate that I posted this in the music section since so much of Rocky IV is music videos.

I know...without montages and music videos, the movie would be like 20 minutes long!

Serious question now....which movie do you think is worse, IV or V? V is usually considered the big embarrassment, but at least it's (unintentionally) funny. Come on--how can you not laugh at Tommy Gunn and Robert Balboa's dangly earring? I can hardly sit through the 4th one. I just pop in for James Brown and Survivor and keep going to the kitchen for snacks during the actual "plot", if you can even call it that.

On Saturday, I had dinner with one of my sons and his girlfriend and we watched...you guessed it...Rocky & Rocky II.
Right away, a big debate started--is it Take It Back or Take You Back? I always sing "Take it back ...doo doo doo doo.."

It might even veer off into so bad it's good territory.

Also, I love Rocky VI, and did you know that Wyoming doubled as the Soviet Union?

I know they're bad, but I can't remember a lot of specific details like I can with the first two. This time I'm gonna sit there and watch #4 in its entirety even if it kills me.

I think you meant to say IV....but I do love 'Rocky Balboa' (which I call VI).

It's been a loooong time since I've really paid attention to Rocky III, also.
When I happen to see the movies on tv, I'll watch a few scenes here and there, but I haven't watched some of them in entirety in ages. My son had to remind me that it says "Introducing Mr. T" in the credits of the third movie. I thought he was already on the A-Team, but apparently not!
