It's bugged me since i read the revised Gunslinger that we never find out what 19 meant to Nort, what did he tell Allie about the afterlife. Now I realize there is a very good reason for this, by leaving it vague we could fill the blank with almost any idea we want. But, if what she found out was so bad, why did she want Roland to shoot her?
My thoughts: either it was that Roland's story was on round 19 and she was doomed to live all over again (and she wanted to forget that, like Cypher in the Matrix) or that maybe there was something so great that she couldn't wait to go experience it. I don't know if either of these fit. Thoughts?
Also, I must add that while I enjoy the revised Gunslinger I think SK tried to humanize Roland too quick in this version. The original fight in Tull worked so well, trying to give Roland a reason to shoot Allie just kinda ruined the ride.
