Based on HBO's schedule, they're saying they'll be airing Doctor Sleep this Saturday finally, then it'll go into rotation until it ends up on Cinemax.
The interesting thing is, they're saying they are going with the Directors Cut and not the Theatrical Cut.
However, the directors cut may only be on HBO Max while HBO just gets the theatrical cut.

That's why I thoroughly enjoy my 4K Blu Ray: It has both versions and I don't have to pay HBO a red cent.
I'll have to pay them though when that Snyder Cut version of Justice League debuts on HBO Max next year.
*grumble*

*grumble* Spectrum throws in HBO Max for free if one has HBO and Cinemax as part of their service. But my BD player doesn't allow one to add apps, so HBO Max is useless to me. I watched 20 minutes of the DC of Doctor Sleep on Vudu and then just haven't had the time to finish it. But tomorrow, unless Spectrum has another outage, I'll get to watch it. It does look like the HBO version will be the theatrical cut but maybe not, its over 2 and a half hours and isn't the theatrical cut under that? HBO Max though is going to nail quite a few other streaming services. But they also cost more if its not included in ones cable plan, I think they're going for 15 dollars which is like what, 5 more than HD content on Netflix and Prime?

So with HBO Max, this is what I plan on doing. Getting it for one month. Watching Justice League: The Snyder Cut. Summarily cancelling it before the next billing cycle.

Usually, when 30 minute is added to a movie, the longer scenes and additional footage don't seem to add much and I understand why these scenes were trimmed. But in the case of Dr Sleep, the additional footage makes the film even better. I enjoyed the director's cut.

I really want to see this movie. But since I don't have primo cable, will have to buy it on DVD.
(I also need to watch the tv series Mr. Mercedes and The Outsider.)

I'm pretty sure the cut they're showing on HBO is the theatrical cut. It is about two and a half hours and I'm not seeing any of the scenes, or slightly different ending the DC supposedly has. I have the DC version on Vudu, just haven't gotten to it yet.
Showtime has been showing the Shining a lot lately, guess its their way of pulling in those with only HBO who haven't seen the Shining and now want to due to Doctor Sleep. Interesting thing about DS, I always liked the Shining but felt it lacked a little depth. DS somehow manages to give a much older film the depth it was missing in a weird way. Some actually prefer the Weber version, I don't. Too much isn't there due to the network restrictions at the times, they've eased off on how strict they used to be but the networks still try to be as PG as possible to please the advertisers.
