IT the book is only one book, but the movie was made into two parts.
Evil resurfaces in Derry as director Andy Muschietti reunites the Losers Club in a return to where it all began with "IT Chapter Two," the conclusion to the highest-grossing horror film of all time. Twenty-seven years after the Losers Club defeated Pennywise, he has returned to terrorize the town of Derry once more. Now adults, the Losers have long since gone their separate ways. However, kids are disappearing again, so Mike, the only one of the group to remain in their hometown, calls the others home. Damaged by the experiences of their past, they must each conquer their deepest fears to destroy Pennywise once and for all...putting them directly in the path of the clown that has become deadlier than ever.

Oh ok thank you for the the help spideyman. I was about to be annoyed because I didn't know about IT 2. The 1990 version was the same in a way, it was two parts they didn't call them Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, not that I recall at least. Most had read the book back then however so they knew the story wasn't finished at the end of the first part, far less people read the books first these days, so it can be confusing when they do two parts.

It's like how they did Kill Bill, there is a part one and a part two but its all one big story. They couldn't put everything into one movie so they made two instead

They'll probably do the same with the reboot of Salem's Lot because that book is huge. So they'll do Salem's Lot Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, and some will think there's two books when there's not. I'm really hoping they get it right this time, I did not care for the TV verison, or the cable tv reboot, but this time it sounds like they have a good team, it just down to who they get to play the roles now.
