I just reread this story a few days ago it was the first time I have in a long time. Anyways I just wanted to know what the deal was with the main character in this story? Was he a drug dealer for the mob and that's why he was traveling with the big bad H on that ship? I never understood that part of it. Very disturbing story though either way. Props to Stephen King for the creativity on this one! Thanks for the help to who ever answers this.

It`s been a while, since i`ve read it but wasn`t he complaining about some people who "screwed him over" ? Maybe the H was his way back to properity.

Maybe the H was his way back to properity.Yea he mentions that he was basically using his Doctor position to sell drugs and other crooked activities but then someone ratted on him. I just read through it again sort of and he was doing a favor bringing the drugs into the country for some one named Ronnie Hanelli who was "The Biggest f*cking Loan Shark in the city" in his words lol. Yea this dude was a shady character. Still horrible what happened to him though.

I think my favorite story in Skeleton Crew is Mrs Todd's Shortcut . It isn't a "horror" story. It's full of wonder. I can relate to Mrs Todd rEBnMZVFTdrKjDHtOvEC The collection is loaded with variety. If you want Horror, bingo- it's there in The Mist, The Raft and Gramma.
