How many times have you read it? What is your favorite part?
Late last night and the night before, Tommyknockers, Tommyknockers knocking at my door. I want to go out, don't know if I can, 'cause I'm so afraid of The Tommyknocker Man. -children's nursery rhyme

3 times.
There isn`t a special part that i liked best. I liked Gard. He`s in a position, to be exactly that kind of hero he turns out to be.

{Spoiler} I like the first two hundred and fifty pages the best when Bobbi discovers (stumbles over) the metal in the ground, not yet realizing she has been walking over a space ship. I like how Gard shows up and the reader sees through his eyes the changes that have taken place on Bobbi's farm. The parts concerning Ev Hillman are also interesting.

I need to re-read this one. Only read it once, many years ago and barely remember it.

Started rereading this one yesterday. About 100 pages in. The inner dialogue and commentary is starting to freak me out. I live in my head a LOT. Too much. It practically takes a large animal tranquilizer dart to shut it down enough to sleep. I keep saying "Arglebargle" repeatedly in my mind.

I really like this book, .....um.... it's got some real life horror to it as well as the ghostly/supernatural ghastliness. (like "The Library Policeman" did) I remember Doc saying that the word "chap" kinda got ruined for him after reading about Mia and her chap. That kinda happened to me with the word "slather" after reading Tommyknockers.
I've since been working on getting over that though. Now I try to associate the word with nice long showers and bubble baths!
I think the only thing about this book that disappointed me is how Bobbi viewed the Dallas Police. But I got over that too.

I've read Tommyknockers only once, but I liked it a lot. I really enjoyed visualizing the saucer being excavated. King described it so well. I also really liked Becky Paulson's typewriter.

"How many times have you read it?" In my case the answer to this is "yes" One of my favorite Stephen King novels, and almost the last "classic" SK novel IMO. I really liked the fact that the main charactres aren't "perfect", especially Gard, who has many personal problems. My favorite parts: Gard getting drunker and more paranoid over the Shed People
Ev Hilman calling the "Dallas Police"
