Why are they closed for like 4 and a half days out of the week anyway? I've never understood this. Literally the ONLY message board I know on the entire Internet that does this.

Hi bountyhunter - if you've been following what is going on over there you might have noticed (but maybe it's not that obvious) - Stephen King's personal assistant Marcia DeFillipo is retiring in a couple of years so they are winding down now.
She only works 3 days a week and has the other four off.
So the SKMB is open from Tuesday through Thursday.
If you're a member you can still send PMs to other members or have conversations during the down time, but that's it.
Sorry - yeah - I know - it really sucks but she has been working for him for something like 30 years so I think she deserves to take a break. Stephen King is on Twitter plus he's going to be 72 in September so he's probably thinking it's not worth keeping that SKMB site open.
There aren't any advertisements popping up over at SKMB so I am going to miss that, but that's life - C'est la vie, eh?
