Who are your favorites out of King's old men characters? It is my opinion that King's elderly and fatherly characters are his best creations. Please share your own opinions.

I have voted for Ralph Roberts.
I really liked him in Insomnia.
And did you know, that he appeared in Bag of Bones ?

And did you know, that he appeared in Bag of Bones ? {Bag Of Bones} Yeah, didn't he have a conversation with Mike Noonan at a diner? Or was it a drug store? I think Noonan also had a conversation with a guy who'd been the druggist in Derry for a long time.

It was at a Diner ( A Restaurant in the German Version) It was just 3 Doors away from the Drug Store, where Jo has bought her pregnancy test.He gave Mike a good advice...take a vacation

Great book. I need to read it again one day soon. If I had to choose which King books were mostly ghost stories, I'd pick The Shining, Bag of Bones, and maybe Christine.

Poor Halloran gets censored He isn't really old until Doctor Sleep. He is young-ish in The Shining and IT. I like his character, but he doesn't leap to my mind when I think old men. Then again, when I was your age, people in their forties and early fifties were old to me.

And did you know, that he appeared in Bag of Bones ? I've read Bag of Bones at least four times and not sure that I ever caught that! (And I still haven't finished re-reading Insomnia.) Double shame on me!

First vote goes to Jud. A very close second is Father Callahan. Halloran, Bateman and Brautigan are too close to call for third.
