Mr.(Or Mrs) Squirrel would need a Therapy Dog after seeing a guy in speedo's. Look, he's/she's already traumatized.....

Happened about six years ago. Went back to the town I grew up in and went into the hardware store. A friend in high school now owned it. He was surprised to see me and said the reunion committee couldn’t locate me. Then proceeded to get me in trouble and riled up like we did to each other in our teens. He said I needed to come with him to see someone. An old English teacher was in there that my friend knew I detested back in high school. A long-haired beatnik I had the unfortunate experience of getting 3 out of 4 years. He made my life miserable and I reciprocated. We couldn’t stand each other. I reminded him of the one day in our senior year when he told me in front of the entire class that I better learn to be a garbage man because I would never make anything of myself and getting into any college would be a pipe dream. He was shocked and said he probably did that to motivate me. I said bullsh!t, you did that because you were a miserable somnabitch who hated me. And then told him I not only went to college but also got a master’s degree and made something of myself... so like everything else back then he was wrong. He said we should have drinks and make amends. I responded No freakin way... I’d rather remember you as an a$$hole. He said he was impressed… when he meets former students they always say they’ll have drinks or keep in touch with him but never do, and at least I had the gonads to tell him the truth. My old friend was rolling and laughing during the entire exchange between us. Lol....I love your stories Dio! Wish I were there to see all that. 😄 Growing up my parents thought some of my friends were bad influences. Little did they know I was the bad influence... I just never got caught. 😄

Have you ever met a friend from the past, someone you haven't seen for 10 or more years ?
You're excited to see this person, you chat and then realize..." This person hasn't evolved"
You wanna tell this person "F**k it, we aren't 20 anymore" or "THis isn't the Year 2000" Another reason not to have friends.

I don't even know if I'd want to meet friends I haven't spoken to in years again, not that I don't miss them and the times we spent together, but because I don't know how I would react to us probably having vastly different personalities and interests since we've last spoken. I've lost contact to two of my elementary school best friends and haven't spoken to either in around 5 years, which isn't a lot in the grand scheme of time, but people's personalities tend to evolve or change fast when they go from elementary to middle to high school. For example, I used to be really religious in elementary school but then I went through some weird edgy atheist phase in middle school, not that there's anything wrong with being religious or being an atheist, but when I first discovered atheism I thought I was on some higher plane of intelligence before I realized how much of a pretentious douche I was about it and stopped caring about what other people believe so long as they aren't hurting someone with said beliefs. But yeah, big personality change dynamic over the course of my middle school career. God I hate my 7th grade self.

For my birthday last year I was told I could pick wherever we go to on our next road trip as long as it was located in the United States. And I was hoping on visiting a friend in Florida that I met on the internet and have been really close with for the past 3 years. Unfortunately corona has delayed that among other things. Also said friend's parents are really paranoid and probably wouldn't want him meeting a friend he talks to on the internet in real life. I don't know where else in the US I'd want to go to though.

I'm sure that wireman ain't scared of no stinkin' covid. All joking aside, they sound like pretty cool parents if they would take you anywhere in the country on a road trip.
