Ahhhh, they've found an unexploded bomb from WW2 and now they have to prepare the school for people who need to be evacuated because the bomb has to be defused today. Awesome. World War 2 technology is cool. Granted the fact that it's still functioning after 76+ years and lying in the middle of a public area is not so cool, but finding old preserved technology like that in general can be neat when it's not an immediate threat to people's lives. I found a rusty cog sitting half-submerged in a lake once, don't know what era that was from.

Crap, I hope everything is alright! a054 It isn't unusual, but normally you know about the evacuation weeks before. But this ordnance is a threat so they started an emergency evacuation.

I think he means turn a school into a temporary shelter/living area for residents who live around the area with the bomb.

Its a very sad day.... After more than three weeks in intensive care at the hospital my friend Lena passed away yesterday. Thank you all for the good wishes you sent. I am still in shock. Somehow i had expected her to win this battle. The whole day feels surreal/unreal. I have extreme difficulties to wrap my head around the thought that i will never see her again.

I think he means turn a school into a temporary shelter/living area for residents who live around the area with the bomb. Exactly. If you don't know where to go, you can go to the shelter, get something to eat and spend the time there. There are also medical staff for elderly people and those in need of care.It isn't unusual, but normally you know about the evacuation weeks before. But this ordnance is a threat so they started an emergency evacuation. Ohhh 😰 (((((((Frank and neighborhood!))))))) We don't get evacuated wolfie. The ordnance was found in a district 2 miles away.

It really is amazing how much of that stuff is still out there.

I found an unexploded artillery shell once at a State Park I used to fish at. In the State’s ultimate wisdom many years ago they converted an old army artillery range that had been used during World War I and World War II for live-fire training into a State Park. People regularly used to come across unexploded shells. We were just walking around bombs, knew it, and nobody thought anything of it. Some years they used to find about 250,000 pounds of ordnance, some of it expended, some unexpended. Back in 2011 the Army Corps of Engineers did a big sweep of the State Park and it took them about 6 years to complete, so it’s a much safer place to play there then it used to be. Once they found 53 unexploded 37mm artillery rounds in the park’s campground. That closed the campground down for awhile. Every so many decades they do sweeps, I believe. Some people even go out with metal detectors looking to find them and keep as souvenirs. Yes, we are crazy up here. Hmmmm... may have to go do some metal detecting next spring. (rofl)

Thanks Mary - I seasoned it in the oven and now today I am doing it again - I used a strong scrub brush then wiped it out, coated it with vegetable oil and put it upside down on the oven rack, with something underneath to catch any drips.
I have used SOS pads in the past; some sites say it's okay and others just recommend a stiff nylon brush.
Mine looks like this but without the ridges
I have used SOS on cast iron with success but when I use stainless steel to cook pinto beans there is always a residue. I use SOS on bean residue and I can tell if it comes off because you can tell when it is removed because it's visiually gone.
Hi Mary mary this iPad won’t allow me to go below the line so I think I am typing inside your post—— anyway - hope you’re enjoying that ⛄️ ❄️ snow!

Now you know why your mom always wanted you to go play in the park.
