Chelsea 0 - 1 Arsenal I wonder, if Chelsea win the Champions League, will Arsenal be the de-fact masters of Europe? Whoa.

Well, in sweden we have one club, Malmö, that is richer than the rest and that is because when they sold Zlatan they got a lot of money. Since then they have been a top team and then there are about 7 others that take turns in the role as challengers. But it is almost always a fairly tight in the top of the table. One thing thats different here is that noone is allowed to own a football club 100%. We have what is called the 51% rule which means that the members, that is the fans mostly, must own at least 51%. That means that no company or private citizen can go in and buy a football club unless the fans agrees to it and then only the 49% thats left. So the Super League hulla baloo couldn't have happened here. So while Malmö is the only team that constantly is a topteam (has won 7 times since 2000) there is always a struggle between 2-3 teams about the topspot. I wish we had that rule in the UK, there would be a lot less corruption in football over here if that was the case. I actually witnessed Malmo play one time. They played a Scottish team in a Champions League qualifier. Malmo won 3 - 0. It was quite funny because I was seated a row or so from the directors box of this Scottish team, and the Malmo owners were right behind me. They jumped up and started celebrating when Malmo scored, so everyone around them, who were not Malmo fans, turned to them and told them to shut up. It was pretty funny.

Clubs – and, by extension, the fans - hold a majority of their own voting rights. Under German Football League [DFL] rules, football clubs will not be allowed to play in the Bundesliga if commercial investors have more than a 49 percent stake.
Private investors cannot take over clubs and potentially push through measures that prioritise profit over the wishes of supporters.

I caught an interview of Jens Lehmann in which he explained the German football ownership system. He explained that it had its pros, but that it also had its cons. He brought up the example of Schalke, who are totally fan owned, but the decisions made by them were so bad that they are have been relegated for the first time in decades. Regardless though, it stops guys like Stan Kroenke from making clubs their personal slush fund.

Sweden just selected their Rooster for the Euros. Pity Zlatan is injured because of the knee. Damn Juventus player for kicking him in the knee. Without him we lack the thing a top quality goalscorer bring to a team. Without him i think we'll qualify from the group but after that it will be difficult. We might manage the first round depending on our opponent but in a quarter finale we are sunk without him. Some choices in the rooster that i have issues with. I think in some cases the coach went in the old trap coaches of nations often go into, holding on to favourite players for too long, Both Germany and Spain have done it recently and now were doing it. Hopefully they wont be in the starting lineup.

But then again, there is a World Cup next year, so he may be a part of that. Our manager did something different and picked several uncapped players that the fans were calling on to be included, which was positive. But I wish he had got rid of the usual suspects for more new players.

Although, I can't really say anything, our football is boring as hell as well. Austria beat Macedonia in the other game, that was by far the most exciting game of the tournament.

But at the end you have to score when you have the chances, if you dont you lose. Scotland - Chechia 0-2. I hoöe you beat England instead!!

But credit to Czech Republic though, defensively they were solid and their goalkeeper was great and made numerous outstanding saves. This first goal was unavoidable, a great cross and header, not many teams were stopping that. Their follow up, while being an excellent strike, was a calamity of errors. Our defender shouldn't have gave it away where he did and our goalkeeper shouldn't have been so far off of his line. I really think that if we were going to progress in the competition then we had to win that game. Hopefully we can get a result against England and Croatia, but I'm not sure. Good luck against Spain!

Spain-Sweden 0-0. Sweden got lucky. But even so we had the two best scoring chances of the game which were our only chances. Spain had a lot of chances. A lot of complaining from Spain afterwards that sweden can only defend. But honestly, did anyone expect us to outplay Spain!!?? They played around and around but the actual hot scoring chances werent too many and the one that existed our goalie took care of. That they couldn't create more really good scoring chances on all that ball possession is on them, not on us. This was a point won, now comes the games we need to win which demands a totally different gameplan.

A part of me wishes that we had done that against the Czech's. We're pretty good defensively, but we seemed to always be going for it in that game. Its such a shame that Zlatan isn't there. His presence alone terrifies opposition defences, which creates space for his teammates. Hopefully he'll be at the World Cup. I think Sweden will win their remaining games and get into the knock-outs. I don't know who the Swedish manager is, but he seems like a great manager, the tactics in that last game were spot on.
