It was really nice to beat them for once. Even better to do so conclusively. It wasn't even a close game which it usually is with the US as winner. But its still early. The thing is to win the games in the playoffs.....
The USA were awful, it was really surprising. But then again, they have an aging team, and a lot of the Swedish players are very young and are going to get better and better, so the USA is going to have some serious competition in the future. The Netherlands is another up and coming team to watch as well, a lot of really good players from there.
I've been really impressed with the Australia women's soccer team, they were immense against GB! What a game it was! SO happy that the Matilda's have progressed to the later stages, they deserve it! I'm so happy they got the win! Stay classy ladies!
I looked it up ... yep, you're right, a lot of funny ones.
How Eintracht Frankfurt (who won the competition not that long ago) got put out by a third division team called SV Waldhof Mannheim (never heard of them) is baffling. I assume they put out a reserve team? But still, no excuses.
Koln also got put by a team called FC Carl Zeiss Jena (another team I've never heard of), a team that plays in a regional German league, man ... I guess this is their first game back from pre-season? But, again, no excuses.
Interesting to note: FC Carl Zeiss Jena made it to a European final in 1981. Man, I doubt too many regional German teams can boast about that.
Bayern have bought Sabitzer from RB Leipzig. Is the Bundesliga Bayer's academy?
Same shiet, different year. Bundesliga: There's a damn good player/talent.
B.Munich: "Opens Wallet"...let's buy him.
The clubs listening to offers from Bayern are at fault as well, they don't have to sell their best players to rivals, they can choose to ignore all offers or sell to clubs in different leagues/countries. Borussia Dortmund is the absolute worst: Lewandowski, Gotze, Helmer, all sold from Dortmund to Bayern. How are Dortmund supposed to compete when they sell all their best players to Bayern? The fact that Klopp was in Germany the last time a non-Bayern team won the league tells you everything.
Schalke are really bad as well, its quite laughable whenever you find out how many of Bayern's team used to play for them; no wonder they got relegated!
We all know that Haaland will eventually go to Bayern.
