Filmmakers are currently working on the sequel to Top Gun and both Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer will be reprising their roles. Jennifer Connelly will be playing the love interest. I think it will be released in 2020. I was a fan of the original and wasn't clamoring for a sequel or remake but I am curious. '80s nostalgia is my weakness.

I’d like to see reboots of Weird Science and Better Off Dead, but in today’s climate of PC correctness I don’t think they could.

Hilarious movie.

Nicole Kidman's new movie Destroyer looks interesting to me. I don't generally care for police/crime/action type flicks, but this one I might eventually watch.

Here's some old Hollywood news. This is a fascinating article about the 1960 movie Spartacus. Dalton Trumbo wrote the screenplay using his real name. Kirk Douglas broke the blacklist by hiring Trumbo and using his real name (Trumbo had been writing screenplays before this using aliases). If you've never seen it, it's worth watching. Try and get the Criterion Collection restored version. It looks and sounds great and has at least one scene that was cut out for sexuality (the Lawrence Olivier - Tony Curtis scene discussed in the article).
