The Oscars didn't even do an extended dedication to him the year he passed away. Nor did they do that with the brilliant Peter Fonda. More evidence that the Oscars are a joke. ....and there's our cheery thought for today. Thanks for that Edders! You're very welcome.

If the Purge ever happened there would be way less murder and rioting and much more financial crime. The movies logic of The Purge benefitting the rich makes no sense, as The Rich have the most to lose in that scenario. Corporations could go bankrupt overnight just via crimes like embezzlement or insider trading. Sure there would be some murder, but only from the people who already want to murder, and even then they'd have their reputation to lose for showing themselves to be sadistic. That being said, a Purge movie being written by a better writer and with more rules to The Purge to thin these plot holes would be interesting. It's a very good concept on its own, it's just flawed by the amount of plot holes the concept alone with no rules creates. Man, I love the avatars you come up with kiddo. π

The greatest Dutch actor ever. Yeeaaaaaahh....I miss Rutger. He was great. And damn, that man was always fine, all the way up to very end.
That movie "The Hitcher" was a really good one, thanks for reminding us of it docpain2 . I'd like to see that one again. As well as few others of his.π There was a 2007 version with Sean Bean.
Although he is a great actor, the movie was horrible.

Although he is a great actor, the movie was horrible. I remember seeing that blipverted, never saw it. Never wanted to. Because I agree with you, Sean Bean is great, but I just couldn't do with seeing him that part after Rutger.
I liked Hauer as 'Barlow' too.

My top three Rutger Hauer movies: 1. Blade Runner 2. The Hitcher 3. Escape From Sobibor (excellent WW2 movie) Night hawks, Flesh and Blood, Lady Hawke, Sin City....liked all of those very much. There's still a lot of his movies I haven't got to see yet. Blind fury was alright. And Hobo with a shotgun too.

Hey annamarie and hilllover36 I'm still watching "Resident Alien" and loving it. Frank!? If you can get tihs over there, take it out fir a test drive. π You might like it!
@wayoftheredpanda , I don't know if you you are a fan of the X-Files or merely a bored occasional viewer, but I got to see that SK season 5 episode you told me about way back on the SKMB (thanx for that again by the way). Pretty cool, lol....it definitely had good King Stephen's paw prints all over it. Wow! Right now I have season 9 epicsode 13 titled "Improbable" on the Smartass TV! BURT Reynolds! "Burt rules." - Ed, of EDTv fame- π It just started, looks like its going to be a good one!
...also got to see a REALLY GOOD movie about a week ago , saw it all the way through and uninterrupted, I'll post about that in the other thread. π

Started Resident Alien.
The perfect mix of sarcasm, laugh out loud humor, a bit of drama and back story, and jokes that would make your inner 10 year old chuckle!
The sarcasm and punchlines are refreshing , the actors are amazing.

The Good Lord Bird - mini-series about the abolitionist John Brown, starring Ethan Hawke. I'll watch anything with Hawke in it, and this is a wonderful, bombastic and often funny interpretation of Brown's crusade. The supporting cast is particularity strong.

The sarcasm and punchlines are refreshing , the actors are amazing. It keeps on getting better and better too, Frank!π It's everything that me and annamarie have been saying it is, lol. I really think this is the best series ScyFy has ever committed. ππ (though Farscape had it's moments. π) (Just wait until you get to episode 9, one of your 'heroes' is in it! ππ)
Anna Marie? Did you ever see the tv series 'Northern Exposure'? ...'Resident Alien' sometimes reminds me of it every once in awhile, just a tad. π
Farscape was an odd one. Scorpius looks like he's in a discount gimp suit and the implications of alien gimp suits is something I don't want to think about.
