Finally finished Neon Genesis Evangelion, dear lord it's amazing how a show about kids fighting monsters in giant robot mechs can get so dark and depressing in just 26 twenty-five minute long episodes and an hour long special.

That sounds like some sort of Evangical educational video. The show has a lot of biblical subtext. I mean "Neon Genesis" quite literally means "New Genesis". The evangelical part comes from the fact that the villains in the show are mysterious alien lifeforms called angels, and they certainly aren't the halo wearing winged lads. More like various lovecraftian abominations. Which, to be fair, is quite appropriate theming considered how they're described in the Bible. Ezekiel's Wheel and the Seven Horned Lamb and literally anything out of the apocalyptic orgy of Revelations.

You know the show is quality when Limp Bizkit frontman and flawless avant-garde expressionist musician, Fred Durst (aka "Our Lord and Savior", is a fan.

Finally got around to watching Vikings. Man, what a great show this is.
Also, I want a girlfriend who will brutalise me like Katheryn Winnick does those heathens. Except she has to look like Katheryn Winnick. Cause I'm not the shallow type. 😐
#TeamLagertha Kathryn Winnick is brilliant.

Watched the first episode of Peaky Blinders and half-way through I had to turn on the sub-titles. Man, those accents are thick.

I watched "I Care a Lot" recently and it's a very memorable film for a number of reasons. It's rare that you like a movie that hasn't a decent person in it. Mostly, you root for the lead characters to die, horribly in the worst possible way, if it can be arranged. But one set of evil people accidentally butt heads with another set who are more direct in their methods. I can't say everyone got what they deserved but some did. The sad part is that one can easily see this happening today. When morality and empathy are given over to greed then it isn't such a stretch.

Hmmm...sounds slightly reminiscent of "The Purge".🙂 If the Purge ever happened there would be way less murder and rioting and much more financial crime. The movies logic of The Purge benefitting the rich makes no sense, as The Rich have the most to lose in that scenario. Corporations could go bankrupt overnight just via crimes like embezzlement or insider trading. Sure there would be some murder, but only from the people who already want to murder, and even then they'd have their reputation to lose for showing themselves to be sadistic. That being said, a Purge movie being written by a better writer and with more rules to The Purge to thin these plot holes would be interesting. It's a very good concept on its own, it's just flawed by the amount of plot holes the concept alone with no rules creates. Man, I love the avatars you come up with kiddo. 😊
"The Purge" is one of the stupidest movies that has ever been committed. 🙂 'Nuff said. 😉

More evidence that the Oscars are a joke.
