Thanks, wolfie. I'll start looking for them early next week. Chicken livers were nowhere to be found around these here parts the week before Thanksgiving.. and I went to three different grocery store in three different towns. I'm making pepper steak with peppers and onions in a slow cooker for Christmas Eve when my oldest daughter and brother come over. It's the dinner my mom used to make. Not making a Christmas dinner this year... it's gonna be a fend for yourself day. If nobody likes it they can make dinner. Although I will make a big brunch. Maybe liver filling with pork gravy for New Years day... I think it would go with pork and sauerkraut in addition to mashed potatoes and corn even if nobody else does.

That filling/dressing will go very well with pork and pork gravy. All of that sounds awfully good! Lol, they better like it. 😄 Really the only difference between your Mom's Filling and my Great Gran's dressing is the livers. I did make some of my Gran's dressing/stuffing with the chicken livers last year, and it was VERY good! The Sun really liked it too. I'm glad you told us about it. 😊

Frank has a great Christmas dinner planned, diobolic ! 😊
I'm making the usual Blackeyed Peas for the New Year, on New Years Eve. 😊 I'll make some greens and cornbread to go with that.
You got anything special for New Years dinner Frank? 😊

Here I am (1960s) with some presents. I'm pretty sure that green truck you see was made of steel with sharp edges.

If you look at the photo closely, you will see a hammer and saw in front of me. That was from a child's tool kit my grandfather bought me and it was an actual hammer and saw. They disappeared after I sawed the handles and legs off my bedroom furniture and put hammer dents in my bedroom furniture.

I was the oldest and tallest, so I wasn't allowed to smack the 'little kids' (lil bastards) back. 😂😊
